Afternoon, ladies! Sunny, 4 degrees and a blustery wind. More like a lion than a lamb...... did my usual Friday library run; nothing really planned this afternoon but the papers and good weekly crossword. Enjoy the weekend....... |

Evening all. Did a mountain of washing and got it all dried outside, I love the smell of fresh clothes. Not doing alot, resting mostly and reading, had a terrible day at work yesterday and also had a terrible thursday with the bordeaux's . so today was about relaxation and catching up on chores.Off out this evening though for a greek meal and some booze, looking forward to it. |

Hi to everyone. Sorry some folks are unwell and that you had a bad day at work yesterday Elaine - hope you enjoy your meal out, I like retsina!! My OH and I took MIL out for an early Mother's Day meal on Friday lunchtime. We went somewhere we hadn't been before and I had the best meal I have had for ages - sea bass with linguine and walnut and rocket pesto followed by poached pears in red wine with mascapone. MIL and OH both really enjoyed their meals - the saddest thing is MIL could not remember one bit of it this morning. She got upset and said that she thought she sounded so ungrateful. Dementia is a nasty thing. A lovely day today, but my heart wasn't in it somehow - did some washing. Merlin was an excellent boy and did another poo in his litter tray!!!!! HOORAY. |

Angie, you're such a kind soul - it must be very diffucult helping your MIL maintain her quality of life. Dementia is something that fills me with terror My day's been pretty routine, vet visit in the morning, across to village near our office to see the excellent shoe mender to fix Sebi's slipper and Dominik's broken zip boot. Came back and OH suggested we go out for a country pub lunch. This is when the 'fun' started. He couldn't decide where to go, so I ended up driving around with 2 increasingly fed-up children in the back. So I lost my temper and came home. For heaven's sake - if you suggest going out for lunch - I suppose this was in leui of Mother's Day lunch as I'm certain - as per normal the day will pass unmarked (by him anyway), then at least have some idea of where you want to go Sorry for the rant - another fun day in our household |
