Craziest Interview Question?Two separate threads sort of got me thinking about this - Smudgley saying she'd been for an interview and Yola's apologies for the bare naked ladies on her wall behind the Artful Dodger! (My brain just works like that - OK?) What was the craziest question you have ever been asked when attending an interview? Mine was my interview for a place at Art School in 1974 when I was asked what I thought about streaking! I said I didn't mind but was not inclined to do it myself! Angie, believe it or not I've only had 2 jobs in my life (well, a Summer clerking job when I was 16 which really doesn't count): my first job they were so desperate for warm bodies that they hired me almost as I walked thru the door...and I stayed 39 years!! Then got the last job before I retired thru the old girls network...never had an interview for that one! I always read the About Jobs column in our paper and that came up once: a woman said that the oddest question she was ever asked in an interview was: "If you were a tree, what tree would you be?" !!!   |

I was always an awkward so and so. After circumstances and moral choices made me give up an academic pusuit;I was once asked by this `child` "What do you think the difference between work and University will be" I replied "money and an easy life?"  |

I'll have to think about that one - I know there were one or two that make me blink at the time (putting it mildly) . . . You went to art school?? Superb! Me too  Albeit I was 10 years after you . . . OH went too, but in the late 60s. Which one did you go to? |

West Sussex College of Art and Design in Worthing. Did go to Croydon for a term to do pottery but didn't like the course, so went back to Worthing. Did a multi-disciplinary course (first year it was done at Worthing) concentrated on printmaking and illustration and did some ceramic sculpture too - always found it hard to be single-minded! |

It was a question on an application form that stumped me 'What is is your sexual preference?' Homosexual male Lesbian female Heterosexual Other??? I put............................ NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS Needless to say I never got an interview |

Goodness gracious me! I would have thought that was an illegal question. Wonder what they meant by "other" - !!! |

Obviously trying to pc and cover statistical information but I don't know what they meant by other either and I don't know to this day what business it was. I was tempted to tick them all but I knew I would never work anywhere that asked that but needed to send the form back anyway |
