Kate's Garden Project.

Right Yola told me to put up some pics of my garden project. See if I can bring everyone up to date.

Sorry photo taken through half cleaned widows but think it is the best for people to get an idea of the garden..... ( Do you see my Stan on the right, 3 days before he left me!! Bless my big man.x)

So quite long and quite wide. I am taking the top area right across and leveling to be able to put a nice big shed at the top. But to do this I must build a 4ft retaining wall the full width of the garden and in one area a second 2m retaining wall to the rear. I am saving the plumb tree and making the first tear a graveled area for the shed. I have to make steps that lead down to the second tear where I have not decided what I am doing yet, maybe another gravel area or veggi patch.

I am replacing the right hand fence as it is mine and is on its last legs.

And I am painting the house white.

ALL BEFORE MY MUM COMES FROM CANADA ON THE 15th of JUNE!!!

So here follows some pics!!

White house.

The digger arrives!!

The work begins.

What have I taken on!! More pics will follow....

Wow - that's some undertaking! Are you doing it all yourself or have you got some 'muscle' in to help?

The layering/tiering sounds interesting . . . look forward to seeing the site develop!

Oh, and I'm sure Stan's watching from his cloud giving full approval to proceedings

Re: Kate's Garden Project.

I have a bit of mussel to help but only at weekends to lay the footings for the wall and then lay the wall. To keep to schedule this week I am having to dig trenches for all the footings myself!!

Thanks for your interest. x

That's just what I thought Eileen C'est formidable

Kate, you have my admiration taking on a project like that, I'd hesitate at managing such a thing let alone doing it all myself. Good for you girl!

Re: Kate's Garden Project.

Does your MOm have any idea you are doing this at all?

But a Great project my idea of heaven sounds like a good solid plan too.

Are you building the retaining walls with bricks or breeze blocks then adding a render to paint white and match the house so to speak?

Doesn't the space always look massive when cleared of plant/greenery.

The veg area sounds good you could maybe put a little greenhouse on the second level too...

Loook forward to seeing the pictures as the work progress's and most of all your Mom's face when she see's it.
