Daily thread ~ Wednesday

Morning all......nothing good about it as it's pouring down with rain!

My little grandson has his school trip to the zoo today, that's not going to be very nice for the kiddies if it's like this all day..

Must pop out in a minute and get some shopping done then tackle a basket of ironing.

Enjoy your day, wet or dry!

Morning!
It's very very wet well its not like they didn't warn us.
Have things to do in the village, bank stuff, collect new contact lenses; so have to get the car out. Will have another cuppa and prepare for the rain.

Using my tumble dryer in July is really bugging me ! But these things need drying and no chance of drying outside. As it is, the radiators were on for a few hours last night and the place looked like a Chinese laundry
*shakes fist at sky and the weather gods*

Morning
I'm shattered this morning. My trip to the hospital ect last night really took it out of me.
We had a lot of rain through the night. Its nice and clear now though. We will see if it holds up. I hope the weather changes for your grandson's trip Mags.
Not going to do much of anything today. Feel like I've gone a couple of rounds with Tyson lol.

Re: Daily thread ~ Wednesday

Much the same story weather-wise here - it's pouring. The bridle path at the bottom of our driveway is like a stream. Luckily, we sit up a bit and have never yet been flooded (fingers crossed). Hope everyone else is safe from flooding too.

Due to my wanting to find a particular photo for Merlin's tea party last Sunday, my OH managed to find all the old albums in the attic. Some are from my parents' house, and some are from his - so we have been spending these soggy days looking through albums. I had found it much too distressing until now to look through my parents photos, but now after time has elapsed I can look at pictures, especially smiling faces, and smile myself. There are lots of people I have no idea who they are or were, so those are being thrown out in our first trawl through. There were some old photos of my mother's taken in post war Germany (she was in the CCG) which, quite sadly, I have thrown out as the people mean nothing to me. I have of course kept photos of my aunts and uncles when they were children - photos which must have been taken in 1920's and 30's - they are lovely. Oh, must remember to look out for that photo of Bimbo, my mum's cat. Nice occupation for rainy days.

Have a good day whatever you're doing and try to keep dry!

Re: Daily thread ~ Wednesday

the weather here has been fairly warm and it's "supposed" to be the same today though we've had random thunder and lightning so who knows.
feeling in a better mood today (it's 5am here) as i got the ssi hearing that i've been stressing about over and done with yesterday.
i have one last appointment that i'm not excited about in several hours. the colposcopy for the dysplasia. had it done before so it's not that i'm scared, i just remember it hurt last time. oh well, after this things should be "normal" around here soon. *knock on wood*
hope you all have a wonderful day!

It's still raining hard here, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of some flood alerts later today!

Re: Daily thread ~ Wednesday

Hi! Same old weather: drizzly rain, then clearing up then more drizzle...enough already! Supposed to finally clear up tomorrow as a cooler dry front is coming thru; we shall see. Did the market run and in the garden trying to put up a barricade of sorts by the next two ripening tomatoes ...as I posted yesterday the catbird got the first one this year; pecked big holes in it..if it's not the #&*@! squirrel it's the birds..

Mags: hope it cleared for the zoo trip
Angie: old pics on a rainy day; lovely way to pass the time! Glad you're on a hill given the rains; so am I. If I'm ever flooded the entire Federal City will be under water...White House, Congress, etc!
Tink: fingers crossed for the appointment..
PP: grinning at "shaking fist at the weather gods"...
Jac: take it easy today..

Stay dry!!
