Update on Mouse, and a great BIG, purry thank you!
I haven't posted in quite some time as I've been very busy, but I wanted to come and post a big thank you to everyone for their support, advice, and healing thoughts in the past months!
As many of you will remember, wee Mouse got ill in early April with severe non-regenerative anemia. She had a life-saving blood transfusion and bone marrow biopsies and endless bloodwork to find out what was wrong. She has been diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Erythroid Aplasia and has been on treatment with steroids for several months now. We have just got her to her lowest dose (2.5 mg every other day) and she is holding well and her immune system is for the moment not destroying her red blood cells. All of her blood count levels are currently in normal range and she returns to the vet yet again on Wednesday to see how she's doing.
Though still very tiny for a year old, she has grown and is eating like a horse and is VERY active......just like a kitten again!
Thank you again to everyone for their much-appreciated support!
Tina
