Hospital parking charges

My daughter is going into hospital on Friday for a few days and I am staying with her. We will have to pay £10 per day for parking. Isn't that outragous?

Re: Hospital parking charges

I think that's disgusting! Even more so as you are staying in with your daughter as that will make a big difference to her health having you there.

I hope all goes well with her Smudgley..

Thanks Mags & Moli.

I'm quite disgusted too. Not much we can do about it though.

Re: Hospital parking charges

Its just a rip off Smudgley, I can park at the Airport for 5 minutes, and be charged £1....How can they justify that!!
Problem is, as you say, not much you can do about it, unless someone can drop you off.....you would probably be cheaper with a taxi...

It's about 15 miles from home but the most awful traffic as it is in the centre of Birmingham. Last time we went we left at 7.30am & got there at 9.20am Did think about someone dropping us off, but myself & John are going with her Friday & then John will have to go home to collect Lucy to bring her back to the hospital to visit, then him & Lucy will go home & me & Ashleigh are staying. Why is everything always complicated?

This time we have to be there for 7.30am

What a ridiculous time to have to be there, which means you are going to have to leave home very early too...Sounds like John is going to have some running about...

Well I know, but she is having a little operation that day which is why we have to get there so early. Better than going in the night before & having an extra night there. I can't fault the staff & the care & the service & everything about the hospital, just the parking is so annoying.

Its is as you say better for her to go in the next day.....Just a complete rip off the parking costs though, they do not make things easy do they
