Someone I work with has a cat problem

She really doesn;t like cats, and she wants to discourage them from coming in to her garden. Are there any plants she can get that will discourage cats coming in to her garden?

(Our neighbour also wants to stop a cat from coming in her garden - not Beauty, our neighbour likes cats but one keeps causing a mess in her garden, digging up plants etc - she's seen him at it and spraying)

I have heard that old fashioned mothballs in the garden will discourage cats from using it as a litter box...no idea if that is true, however.....

Re: Someone I work with has a cat problem

an old neighbour of mine swore by lengths of hosepipe in the borders. Meant to look like snakes he said.

Have to say the cats I had at the time were not often seen in his garden.

I suspect that nothing short of an atomic bomb would deter the squirrels from Hell in my neighborhood, Moli, but thanks for the link.....I've tried blood meal, coyote urine and a "guaranteed" squirrel repellant with absolutely no success...
