Dunvegan Castle GardensWas on Skye for a week and visited these lovely gardens. Came home with lots of ideas and my plant wish list has grown even longer. Hope you don't get too bored with these The Castle  Some lilies - beautiful colour and scent  Woodland walk  Waterfall one  waterfall two  more of woodland walk  in the walled garden    some lichen growing on a rowan tree   Can you see Cali hiding at the end of the path?      That will do for just now - will post a few more later.

ok guys - here are some more. Glad you enjoyed them. In the centre of the walled garden they have this structure (sort of like a Mayan temple) it is covered in sedum, saxifraga, loads of different houseleeks and other succulants.  This was a huge pergola. It was covered in roses, clematis and honeysuckle. Unfortunately most of the flowering was over.  Looking through the pergola to a sculpture/sun clock at the far end.   This was very pretty, again planted up with sedums. I'd love something like this in the garden.    This was the most spectacular monkey puzzle tree.    Another example of the lichen that was growing on a lot of trees, this was on a bench in the round garden. Just loved the look of it.  I think the various sea hollies are amonst my favourite plants         That's all folks - enjoy. Wish photos did justice to the gardens, they were absolutely stunning. CM |
