The earliest your vet is happy to do it, I guess? But seriously, I think 6 months is the usual. Some welfare places are doing kittens before they send them off to their new homes, so that is much earlier. There are arguments for and against early neutering, and if I can find them easily I'll add an edit to previous discussion Edit: Here's the thread. It's from over 2 years ago .... Elvis was done at 5 months i Think. my vet said to me that 9 months is best. But i cant wait 9 months so when i phoned back they said 6 months is fine they wont do it before then so his booked in for 2 weeks time x (dont tell him!) |

We usually do male cats at 5-6 months, depending on how big they are! The small pom-poms can be more fiddly to remove although we do sometimes have farm cats in at 4 months. |
