Meep's Christmas shopping list

Not quite sure where to post this, but rather than continuing the DT, I thought if meep says what kinds of things she's looking for then we can give her some ideas of sites to visit for online retail.

Often a search for the actual item reveals some good sites, but also lots of these 'shopping portals' which (IMO) are a waste of time and effort.

Re: Meep's Christmas shopping list

I've been browsing through Lakeland, although I admit the catalogue came first and then I went online.
I think it was French and Saunders that dubbed it 'lady-porn!
some other sites that give you some quirky gifts are.
iwantoneofthose ; presentsformen ; giftsforthegirls

Also I support charity organisations eg. Fairtrade, cat protection etc

Good luck shopping Meep

Re: Meep's Christmas shopping list

Lakeland is fab! How sad am I. And I hadn't heard the term Lady Porn, but I like it. My husband calls me over in shops and says 'Look Hil - things to put things in; you'll love them!' Cheeky beggar.

Put some ideas on Elaine's thread a day or two ago (Need Help?) and would strongly recommend lovefilm for movie fans who don't have Sky

presentsformen and giftsfor the girls are good, but if they're getting too many recommendations the things will lose their exclusivity.

Fantastic food? Look here http://www.bridfish.co.uk/ Can't recommend them highly enough. Fantastic when you visit there - the smell of fish and appetising smoke is incredible.

And don't forget the online arm of 'favourites' like John Lewis, M&S etc. Amazon does a lot more than simply books.

And there's always proxy presents from Oxfam, World Vision etc etc.

Re: Meep's Christmas shopping list

Oh, Yola and everyone else, thank you so much! I am touched that this thread was created, especially as I did actually need some help and guidance with the christmas shopping this year - thank you all!

I'll definately check out those sites. I'm in a wee bit of a rush this evening, heading out soon, but will have a look at them tomorrow and post up the ideas I have so far for presents. Hopefully this thread will help lots of folk like me, unless I'm on the only one a bit bamboozled by the festive shopping?!
