Daily thread ~ Friday

Good morning all!

The weather is changing, it's very windy here with a distinct chill in the air. We're off to Weston tomorrow so I think warm wear is called for against the cold sea air. We will probably pop into the Garden Centre on the way home as they always put on a fabulous Christmas display.

I expect Moli is at Heathrow now awaiting her flight to a much warmer Houston...... she said she may 'tune' in to us tomorrow to get her Catsey fix!

Hope you all have a good weekend, stay warm and those who have snow, take care

Re: Daily thread ~ Friday

Good morning Mags - and everyone else joining later. Yes, sunny here but there is a feeling of a nip in the air. Still very pleasant though. I don't think we will get any of the forecast snow tomorrow but it appears there will be quite a bit on the eastern side of the country.
The builders are here and there are horrible dentist-memory type drill noises and various bangs and clanks from outside. I'm afraid I made them tea at 8.30 and left them to get on with it - Mr 'Smum can do any supervision out in the chill! I will wrap up and get Dinah out later this morning though.
No other news here. Hope everyone perks up for the weekend and that everyone's news is neutral or good.

Morning all! we all got up early and fed Bronnie out in the kitchen while I distracted Posh. She was looking at me as if to protest that she hadn't done anything wrong and why is the big furry thing being fed and not me!? So lots of cuddles and smooths from me to compensate for the rumbly tum All was good until we brought in the cat carrier, then she started to wail and it was pitiful. I'm sure that she thought she was going to be taken away and abandoned all over again. My poor baby, I was shushing and reassuring her that it was all going to be ok, but I left her in the vet hosp. with a lump in my throat and wet eyes.

They'll ring me at about 2 oclock and it can't come quick enough! My car is having an MOT today too so relying on Ceri to fetch and carry me about. Will let you know how it all went later on. Thanks for your lovely messages of support for us both

Thinking of you both Nette, it's a worry - even if in reality there is little to worry about

Sebi and I have been into town. I've bought Dominik a Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas . . . I decided to forgo the Wii as I really don't think I'd use it much (no time for anything as it is)! It's cold and crisp and lovely out.

This evening we will be heading into town again as they are switching on the Christmas lights in both the main high street and in the shopping centre that strides the River Kennet. This latter one will be accompanied by a sound and light (laser, music and fireworks) show

Off to do some lunch now to allay a full-on tantrum that's happening in the kitchen

Re: Daily thread ~ Friday

Hi, all. Hope by now Posh's op is over and that she's home and doing well; also that Pat had/is having a good flight; no idea how long it is from Heathrow to Houston! But I do know the weather is better there: sunny and 10C; just checked. It's still bitterly cold here, 2C, wind chill -2, with snow flurries north of the City, ugh! Did the market run and am staying inside where it's warm the rest of the day except for trash/bird feeder and of course Leia's grass. The unseasonable cold predicted to last about 10 more days....

Stay dry and warm, have a nice day.

Re: Daily thread ~ Friday

Been to work this morning and fretted all the way there that Merlin hadn't come back in before I left and how silly of me to have let him out in the dark... Of course Cats can see in the dark but I was being totally irrational. A couple of 'please go and find Merlin' texts to hubby and by 7.30am he was home all safe and sound. Silly mummy!

Had a lovely Indian takeway and just ploughing my way through a nice bottle of merlot watching TV.
Both cats are not impressed with the windy conditions and the rapidly decreasing temps and are snug as a bug by the fire. Milo is being very fussy with his food and am putting him back onto wet food incase its his teeth bothering him. More than likely he is trying it on!!!!!!!
