Good morning PP; good morning all.
I must be good and have a good clear and tidy round the house today - we have a visitor for the weekend. Eek!
But I'll leave the comp on ..... who knows how often I will need a little break from the hard work?

Morning all and welcome home Nette

I managed to get some things sorted yesterday but the strain is taking its toll on us all and we have days of it left I think. Have to go to work later so Poppy is having to go to nursery. Hubby is with his mum and I am juggling everything else. I do feel I'm on the edge today but I shall not get down about it and will hike up my chest and soldier on. Just looked at the forecast for the weather tomorrow and its going to be sunny so I think I shall get the lawns mowed then. Too Wet this morning. Bess has found a new playmate in the form of Merlin who enjoys chasing her round the garden and catching the toys. Toilet training is still very hit and miss but I guess its only been a week.

Anyone got some diazepam???

Re: Daily Thread~ Tuesday

A cold, penetrating fog here today. Sebi threw an eppy when I tried to leave him at holiday care so I didn't get in to the office until close on 0930

Have lots of bits to get through today, both work and home stuff (sneakily doing home stuff here in the office ), I'm doing a 'Polish buffet' for Boxing Day including vodka and dill-cured salmon . . . I need to write a list and plan purchases.

Balie hadn't been sick or had the runs during yesterday (I'd starved him, leaving only water down). Last night I boiled some white fish and he drank lots of the 'juice' that was in the bowl. This morning I hand-fed him some of the fish and he was SO hungry he nearly had my fingers off He also looks to be suffering from an eye infection so that's being treated with Fifi's fucidin ointment. I do hope he perks up some more soon.

Oh dear - just answered the door to my neighbour giving me a brace of pheasants... au natural of course (the pheasants, not me!)
So, they're hanging in the garage and I'll have to deal with them and cook them at the weekend. Nice outcome but I haven't started from scratch for ages and I'm not sure I remember accurately - something to do with standing on the outstretched wings and pulling the legs. Ho hum - guess I'll have to remember!

Edited post. I put a link to a video of 'How to skin a pheasant' but it froze my screen, so I've removed it to save others suffering the same fate

Re: Daily Thread~ Tuesday

Afternoon everyone! Just finished my lunchtime apple (I do try!) and have a few minutes to catch up with Catsey before returning to the Christmas cards - still I am over half way through and OH is helping me! Went around to a girlfriend who lives at the other end of our village as it is her birthday today and we sat and had coffee and chin-wagged. Don't know where the time went, but I finally said that I should be going and when we looked at the clock, she had about 40 minutes to get ready to go out for lunch with her parents! I've come to the conclusion that time is like elastic ...............

Do hope that Balie recovers soon Yola.

I wouldn't know anything about stretching a pheasant's wing DM - my friend (the one I saw this morning) puts out carrots for pheasants who come into her garden. She's had Mr C Pheasant and his missus in the kitchen before now. Obviously offers a high class sort of carrot!

Just to remind (not panic) peeps - last 2nd class posting day is this Thursday 18th December.
