Daily Thread - Friday

Morning all!

Cold, grey and wet here this morning, just about to head into work for the day, we've got a couple of stray kitties in at the moment so I'm going in a bit early to move them into their 'play room' before the boss spots them!
Hope everyone has a lovely day!
Lizx

Morning Liz - lucky kitties to have you looking after them!

Nice day here, cold but blue sky. Not sure what's happening today. MIL has got herself extremely upset within half an hour of waking - her hallucinations have been bad this week. She has her carer who comes to help her shower with her atm just trying to settle her down.

A tree rat has just run along the top of the fence outside my window!

Merlin is crying and needs cuddling - not a hard task though.

Have a good day everyone.

Re: Daily Thread - Friday

Morning all! Things are starting to settle now, and I have more free time! Today's the last day of work before my 2 weeks off (hurrah!) and I really can't wait. I think we're finishing at 1pm today too which is a nice extra treat

Went out for our staff Christmas meal last night, which was lovely. Got a whole week of overindulging and over-eating coming up; so I'm off to the gym after work today in a vain attempt to reverse some of the damage!

My two have been quite clingy recently, Darcy especially. Not sure why, but he's constantly crying to be picked up, and both of them hold a stand right infront of the front door in the morning when we're trying to leave for work. bless them.

Looking forward to some 'me' time very soon! A good friend has asked me to design her a tattoo, I'm almost in shock and feel so flattered to be asked! Whilst I was good at art at school, I haven't done much since so will need to get praticing!

Have a good day all x

Re: Daily Thread - Friday

Is everyone feeling festive? i think the schools break up today, my OH starts his break and generally there's an air of IT'S CHRISTMAS! (as Noddy Holder would say)
A day of comings and goings here. My favourite vet is retiring and is offering mulled wine and mince pies at the surgery on Tuesday It's a shame when you have a good rapport ... but there are others who I'm equally happy with.
My jeep has just come back to see me - or the girl who bought it has just turned up on the doorstep to show it off. She's got it looking very nice, with some girlie modifications! She's done 12000 miles - a bit different from my 2000pa - and is still really chuffed with it.
It's a quiet warm winter day - I hope the forecast gales don't happen for you folks up north. A good tail wind will help Moli on her way home though!
Have a good afternoon/evening everyone. Don't stress!

Re: Daily Thread - Friday

It's blowing a gale up here. Merlin and Belle are not amused. Had hair cut, got stessed about the nursing home YET AGAIN, MIL is STILL lingering and however hard I pray to the great man in the sky, he is not taking a blind bit of notice Got a couple of pressies to finally wrap now and it's a chinese take away for tea, cuddles with my girls and another night, the 8th in a row of being all alone.

Safe trip home Moli

Re: Daily Thread - Friday

Afternoon, all. Grey, dismal and wet here also and looks to be the pattern for some days to come. Right now the forecast is for a wet, not white Christmas .... hope they're wrong. Skipped the market run as it's so yucky out; just puttering around.
Leia, who wouldn't eat tuna for years suddenly decided this Summer that she did like it after all... until this morning when she turned her little pink nose up at it! I suspect the fact that she overturned the canister of dry food sometime overnight (I forgot to put it on the fridge!) might have something to do with her lack of appetite at breakfast....

Cats do hate wind, don't they, Matron? Angie: guess your tree rat didn't relocate after it's drey was carried of with Douglas...pity! Meep: enjoy your time off!

Stay dry and warm, people!

Our next door neighbour told us that they had a second home in the big willow tree in their garden! Talk about affluent s*******s! Second homes indeed.

Hi everyone. Almost had to swim home tonight. Lots of local flooding. Still wet and now becoming very windy.

Feels like a night for fireside and TV. Might try and get the Xmas tree up.

Have a good evening all.
