Morning all, dry and bright here too but very cold. I am dying with the lurgy have hardly slept for blowing my nose, sneezing and being unable to breathe. Things could be worse though. Hope every one else is fit and well and not getting too stressed about the looming Xmas day stuff. Have a good one, I'm off back to bed to snuggle the Diva and Bernie and make Cactus do lots of running after me, since he gave me this dreaded disease in the first place |

Morning CM, Elaine. Have a good day is Glasgow CM - wise about park and ride - hope you manage to get all those last bits and bobs. Sorry you are poorly Elaine - I presume Cactus is your OH? You ask him for all sorts of things to make you feel better, such as whisky ice cream and whatever else you fancy. Hope you feel much better soon. Can't think of many things worse than not being able to breathe. Just have to tell you all that Merlin had a little game with a ping pong ball in the hall just a few minutes ago. He had attacked my leg and bitten me slightly, and I assumed that meant he wanted a bit of a play, so I found one of his old ping pong balls which he always loved and he chased after it - only to make him (and me) realise that his pp chasing days are really over. Made me smile to see him and then made me weep to think about the implications. Bless him. Feeding the birds, doing last minute food shopping lists etc and making a Dundee cake later. Nasty grey overcast day here - lights will go on early I fear. Have a good day everyone. |

Pouring down with rain here and its damp. Just toured around some garden centres with the girls to look at last min decorations and now its lunch time. No carbs for me for a week. Couldn't get my jeans on Hubby coming home at 3PM so I can have a wee nap as I'm on night duty tonight and tomorrow. No news this end still |

Dull and overcast here but quite mild.. Went to Sainsbury's earlier for some bits and pieces and it appears the Christmas food rush has started already there.......... it was packed out with people overloading their trolleys... Making mince pies and sausage rolls to freeze this afternoon, also an apple pie for the weekend. Elaine ~ sorry you're feeling so rough, hope it clears soon and you'll be well for Christmas..... CM ~ good luck with your shopping in Glasgow, it's no pleasure at this time of the year is it Good thinking about the train and Park & Ride....that will save any frustration about parking. Angie ~ Dundee cake sound lovely, must admit I've never made on of those .......pic later perhaps? Get well soon to all the poorly people and pets.... Have a lovely day! |

Good morning all. It's very very mild here. Ii went out with D very early (for a Saturday - we went out about 9.15) and though I started with my gloves on I had to remove them after no time at all. My OH went to collect our weekend visitor, who I've never met before. So - came in from the walk and there were the cats, in the hall, with a poor tortured Mrs blackbird which Bentley had caught. Feathers everywhere - except the bird . So, there was I shutting Dinah in the kitchen out of the way, shooing the cats out, picking up the bird, which had enough fight in it to peck me, putting it in a box in the garage and then starting the cleaning and hoovering. All the time I was imagining OH and visitor coming through the door. Feathers everywhere, muck through the hall, blood on the stairs and up the wall .......*sigh* All's well for everyone except the bird, which has expired, as I expected. I managed to get it cleaned up and was sitting in the garden, with Bentley rehabiltated and on my lap when my visitor arrived with a bunch of flowers. OH had picked up the butcher order for tomorrow, but they had made a mix up and gave me a whole unboned shoulder of lamb when it should have been boned and rolled, so I had to take that back and get it done. You can imagine how long the queue became as he took the time to do that.... However, his mistake, so I didn't feel guilty. I have the afternoon to myself, thank goodness, and we're off for a curry tonight. Some sort of veggie one for me I think, to balance the carnivorous excesses to come Hope everyone has a more peaceful day, whatever they are doing. Hope the baking turns out well. I couldn't imagine city shopping today - eek! . Elaine - get well soon. Lots of liquids for you - pref non-alcoholic, although a toddy before you sleep is good. |

Just in from work-very quiet as I suppose everyone is busy with Christmas preparations, got some housework to do then need to go into town for a few bits of shopping. Going to make some dog biscuits later on, for some of the staff dogs and also to put on reception for the patients! Lizx |

Hi all! Nasty grey cold day again, 1C; but really shouldn't complain when I think of the weather Tink and probably HappyKatz are having! Saw pics of Seattle in the late news last night and it is simply horrible there, poor people! Skipped my usual library run as snow is predicted for tomorrow and I wanted to stock up in case it''s worse than they say, so to market instead. Other than my usual weather bulletin I've got no news. Hope all finish their shopping and decorating and can enjoy the day; also that all the poorly people feel better. |
