"lol" means "laugh out loud" evidently - I must be a sweet old-fashioned thing because I thought it meant "lots of love"!!!

Actually I think that's kind of sweet! I did know LOL when I came on here, and IMO, but took me as while to figure out ROTFL !

you're not alone - I too thought that for a looooong time. I was corrected by a 6 year old! - signs of the times huh.

No they do things like 'goin 2 da skewl l8r kk. Meaning We are going to the school later, okay.
