I haven't got one Alex but I would love one. Loads of food you can cook in them. Chili, curry, lamb shanks, beef casserole, soups etc. They are especially good for cheaper cuts of meat that require long cooking times. Have you tried the BBC website for recipes? |

Here is a site that seems to have quite a few recipes (listed down the page in grey) http://www.recipes-4u.co.uk/slow-cooker/index0001.html |

Don't just think savoury Alex - there's rice and other milk puddings (I love tapioca - frog spawn! - but then I'm a bit odd) which you can make for just pennies and are lovely and comforting in cold weather, and you can even make jam in it when you can get hold of cheap fruit - or next blackberry season! Also good for soups - more economical than cooking on the hob |

Tapioca - yuck!!! , but I like the thought of puddings (though perhaps having joined the slimming thread I shouldn't) I'm looking forward to trying a soup in it, and I've always wanted to try jam maling, but have no idea where to start! |

Thanks for those links, will take a look. I have one, a gift quite a few years back, but it's gathering dust as I've never used it. Didn't come with recipes; that was pre-computer days, never occurred to me to look in the net since I'm online now... actually had forgotten I have it. Does anyone have a clay cooker? |
