Fair Friday chat thread

Sunshine! Hurrah!
So, off to plant my shallots - delayed from yesterday because there was an icy wind.
Mum's dog is poorly, which is worrying for us all, other than that, all is well with the world.
So, dog walk, allotment and see you later

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Morning! Grey and threatening to drizzle but also spots of blue sky; which way is it going to go?!

I'm Exhausted this morning, with a capital E. Can barely keep my eyes open and feel a bit dizzy with tiredness! Only one more early start tomorrow morning, then Sunday I'll get my first long lie in 13 days! I'll get all my days at the weekends worked in lieu, but I would probably rather have the weekens after this stint.

Off out for dinner tonight with OH, mum and her OH. The delicious Italian restaurant I took OH to for his birthday, can't wait! Then working tomorrow, then home for my dad's birthday so another meal out, probably Indian. And I have plans to meet a friend Sunday eve for nachos. So my weekend is based around food

Hope everyone has a good day! I'll about to have my third cup of tea in the vain attempt of waking up a bit!

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Lovely blue sky, sunshine and warm! Hooray!

I bought a special brush for cleaning brick paving yesterday - have to say it actually worked a treat with no need to bend or get down on hands and knees - did that yesterday and today OH and I have cleared out the shed. Found rat droppings - can't see where the b****r got it though; and a dead blue tit. No idea how he got in either. Felt very sorry. My spin dryer packed up last wash on Wednesday and luckily Spencer is coming round in about an hour or so to mend it. I have used the same firm for about 12 years or so and they are excellent. One chap even used his wife's hairdryer to dry my washing machine's electrics out when I had a big bang! It's amazing how vulnerable I feel without washing machine or spin. Two days and already I have a backlog! Anyway, I'm rambling, aren't I? After that's done, I may have a bit of an attempt to do the greenhouse, but it may have to wait until tomorrow.

DM - sorry about your mum's doggie. Fingers crossed all will be well.

meep - Hope you manage to enjoy your weekend and all that eating. Try not to fall asleep in your soup!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Well the latest bulletin on the dog is that she is 'no worse' and is resting comfortably. Let's hope it is just 'one of those days' and she will be better tomorrow.
I've got my garlic and shallots planted, which is a relief - colder weather next week apparently
Friday night is curry night tonight, so I'll spend the afternoon building up my appetite for that Last time we went it was freezing, so it'll be pleasant wandering down without muffling up.

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Ok, what I said before needs to be deleted lol.

Its bright with some sunny spells here and warm...

My area Manager phoned me up (on my day off) asking me have I done the High School Music stock take (I really hate this HSM stuff!!!) I said no, its my day off (my mum works at the same place I do, but because she's on holiday my area manager was suppose to be going in for her) So my AM was tutting and huffing. (Its her own fault, my mum saw her write down that she was going in for my mum) anyway, I ended up going in work and doing the stock take. Arghhhh stress.

Now im rushing around getting things ready for tonight, im cookin a meal for my bf... its only pasta but im making my own sauce and ive not done it since I was in high school lol, trying to remember how to do it!

Goes off to find some sauces.

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Hi all! Sun early and unseasonably warm ... 15 degrees! .... but clouding over and a 90% chance of rain this afternoon, We need it, been very dry, so not complaining, as I got to the market and am all set if it stays nasty again tomorrow, which it might. And by Sunday there's a chance of SNOW! Did some work in the garden this morning and am ready for a quiet afternoon of papers, crossword and Catsey.

Janey, hope the sauce turns out well! DM, healing vibes for Mum's dog, and enjoy the curry! Angie, hope the dryer's been sorted by now. Meep, I think you're as food oriented as I am....fun, isn't it? Enjoy!

Nice day wishes to all!

Re: Fair Friday chat thread

Evening! It's been a murderous day. Firstly I forgot that OH's 25 year old son was coming around and we were getting his cat Billy, neutered (CP vouchers which I had to organise). Then I had him here for the rest of the day which really scuppered my plans for stuff I needed to do. He also brought his raucous 3 year old son who he looks after whilst his partner works full time.

So I had 2 stroppy toddlers who would do nothing they were asked to do and him chatting at me . . . literally following me around and just talking, talking, talking. He's at home all day with the little one and works a couple of nights doing security so I guess he hasn't got anyone to talk to but - phew - my ears are hurting!!!

Got my shed paint (cream and eau de nil) so weather permitting on Sunday I shall be getting on with that
