Monday's Daily

No Daily Thread at 11.20? I bet someone else is creating one as I do right now

Had a lovely weekend, out for dinner Friday night with my mum, out for dinner Saturday night with my dad for his birthday and a loonnng lie on Sunday - my first in 13 days! So feeling quite chipper for a Monday.

Just a normal week ahead of me, going to hit the gym hard to burn off all the eating out (did I mention chicken nachos on Sunday evening too?!); I'm really enjoying the gym, have made it part of my routine now so it doesn't feel like a hassle.

All my cat-hair cleaning products have arrived (velvet clothes brush, sticky rollers) so I'll be embarking on my de-hair-athon soon.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Re: Monday's Daily

Morning meep and everyone.
We're a bit behind today aren't we? But at least I've got all the must-do's done and can now have a quick bite and then off gardening for the afternoon
It's lovely here but there forecast for the rest of the week is a bit dismal. Rain tomorrow of course, as I'm getting my hair done
Meep - put the hair from the de-hair-athon (loved that!) out for the birds so they can make nice cosy-lined nests, won't you?

DM, what a great suggestion I'd never thought of! Stravinsky could probably provide housing for the entire blackbird population in our area Will take photos of hair then put out for the birds!

Morning all ...

Lovely sunny day here, hardly a cloud in the sky...... can't believe we are supposed to be having heavy rain tomorrow.. Dropped my son off at the station earlier and I'm now getting back to normal again after a relaxing weekend..

Planning to get out into the garden this afternoon and tidy a few things up.

Enjoy your day!

LOL!! I have a whole weeping conifer draped in cat fur and to date there are not takers Maybe our 'hard' urban birds are more interested in lining their nests with maccieD wrappers

Re: Monday's Daily

Afternoon all, (sorry, very long post)

Just come in from work and I need to start tidying up
Its very cloudy here, not a blue bit in sight!

Ive had a great weekend.
My bro n his gf came up to see Leo on Sat night (They loved him) and Sunday I went to the Waxworks in Blackpool (was amazing, I'm just uploading my photos to photobucket - there's a lot, will post some on here!)

We bought little water pistols at the weekend to train Leo not to jump on the table when we are eating or on the kitchen tops or in the bin and attacking some fake flowers in a vase, oh and pooping behind the settee ...

Also on Friday night we got a Chinese in and we had BBQ ribs... we put the bones in an empty tray, my bf got up from the table then Leo jump up and grabbed one of the bones ... I managed to grab hold of the bone n we were tugging lol (Leo was well strong!) I managed to get the bone from him as I didn't want him to choke on it. Hence the water pistols.

So we sat at the table last night and used the water guns, squirting him as soon as he jumped on the table, he was getting the hang of it and we had a relaxing time eating without guarding our food lol. He was quite wet by the time we had finished but he soon dried of in front of the fire.

Oh and when we were in Blackpool we walked past 'Yates that burnt down a few weeks ago, if anyone heard. There was also some flowers out side it and I was wondering what they were for as no one had died, so as I walked past I read the top line of a card on one of the flowers,

It said: R.I.P, To all of gods creatures.

I nearly burst into tears because next door to Yates's was a pet shop which also caught fire and all the animals inside got killed. The fire was started by a 20 odd year old lad (If I could kill him I would, Idiot, it makes me so angry and upset!)

Wow, didn't relise how long this post was.

Jane - that's just SO sad about the petshop, it would have certainly had me in tears. Is this the fire that a whole bit section of a shopping mall was burnt down? I think I remember it from the national news . . .

Re: Monday's Daily

What a sad story, Janey!
Well we got the snow, 6 inches! Very cold, -7 with blustery winds and drifting snow now, but the sun is trying to come out and the streets were plowed. Buses are running but I'm not going out; shoveled the walk, rescued one newspaper (other must be buried somewhere under the snow!) Will stay indoors; Leia took one look at the snow on the porch, looked at me as if to say "Are you mad?!", and headed for the radiator. I was hoping to get a pic of her reaction; no luck. Did take some snow pics, will post later.

Hope your rain forecasts are wrong!

Re: Monday's Daily

Sorry about your snow Eileen - just when you don't want them to have got the forecast right. Look forward to seeing your pictures though. Poor Leia!

It has been such a lovely blue sky sunshiney and warm day here, I too hope that we don't get the rain etc that is forecast for us. Mind you, we could probably do with some rain at least here where I live. Things do seem to be drying out - the snowdrops are nearly over and I am not sure whether it's just lack of rain.
