please help me... (tonight)

I'm going on a 2 day course tomorrow & Thursday & have a little pre-course preperation to do. It's 10.33pm, so I'd better make a start I need to think of a task I can teach someone in 10 mins, anything at all, a simple task or skill... it's all about teaching methods / coaching skills.... I can't actually think of anything Doesn't have to be work related.

I also have to think of a work related skill that someone can teach me.

Ideas please, there's no urgency... but HURRY!

Well, the teaching part has to be something you know how to do. Is is a verbal explanation, or a hands-on? I was thinking of how to pill a cat, wouldn't work if it's hands on.... how to do the Heimlich manoeuvre (sp?)

Work related...something you don't know how to do on the computer?

Sorry, best I can come up with ....... good luck!

Re: please help me... (tonight)

Good ideas, but I can't take a cat with me

& I don't want to kill anyone doing the "whatever-it-is" manouvre

But you are on the right lines, it can be anything at all & the work realted one can be something I know how to do, but I've got to get my collegue to teach.

It's just about the method used. I did a similar course years ago & I did making a cup of coffee then someone did changing a plug which is a great one, but I wouldn't know how to wire a plug

Something I don't know how to do on the computer, could be the litte tick boxes that I was needing help with the other day, but then I'd have to take my laptop and I'm guessing we'll have to do it in front of the whole group.... there must be something simpler I can do....

Keep thinking.

Ideas - related to what?

If anything how about how to cover a book?

Teaches how to cut the right size, centre, fold, leave room for opening, closing and has a useful purpose?

or

Tying a bunch of flowers to stand alone in a plastic sheet water pouch?

or

baking scones

or is this all nuts?

Re: please help me... (tonight)

thanks both your ideas are fab.
I don't really have much time now to get many props together, so the simpler the better at this late stage.

The covering a book is a great idea, but I don't think I have time to prepare for that now.

All I've been told is... to do pre-course preperation by bringing a skill you can teach someone in 10 mins..... I'm guessing they will look at how we teach & then tell us what we are doing wrong & then the right way to teach

How to address an envelope properly?

By the look of the mail we get, not many people can do that properly!

This is probably too late - what about how to tie a shoelace?

The other question is a bit more tricky, as I don't really know what you do!!!
