Mom! There's a strange cat outside!

Leia was half-dozing in the sun in the high little window in the living room, when she suddenly leaped down and galloped to the back room, where I caught this pic of her glaring at a brown tabby sauntering down the sidewalk, For an indoor cat she's very territorial...

The intruder has certainly caught Leia's attention!

How lovely to see the sun streaming through the window onto her...

Thanks! The sun was lovely today, bur very brisk outside; she preferred staying off the cold porch! She does have a really soft coat.

And she's my second, Moli, Misty was also. You don't see many blue torbies.

She certainly looks engrossed in watching the intruder, she is such a little protective sweetheart.
Her coat does look sooooo gorgeous in the sunlight.

How dare some other cat walk on her sidewalk!!!

SHe is so alert in that pic, and I can only echo the compliments about her coat - beautiful.

I really don't know, Moli. Wish I knew more about cat genetics. To get torties you need a black male X ginger female, or a ginger female X black male; a certain proportion of kits will be tortie. So I don't know if a blue male X cream female (or vice versa) will give you dilute torties or not, or if the dilute gene that changes black to blue and ginger to cream comes in there somewhere. And God knows where the tabby gene is activated! I have no idea who Misty or Leia's parents were, just random moggy mating, I suppose? But they are pretty cats.
