Matt's post about the number of his pics got me thinking: how do you keep your pics? In one big album, or broken down into sub albums by subject, etc? Or some other way?

Sub groups and it still takes me ages to find the ones I want at any given time

I use to keep them in just one folder but I got so fed up of trying to find a pic I wanted, I broke it down into groups... As Elaine says, its still hard to find what you want lol.

Used to keep the pictures in one place, but got too complicated so they are in albums now.

I load my photos on my HTPC they get automatically backed up to my work computer on the other side of the house that i use to process the photos.
I also have an external drive that I store old photos on.
As i'm quickly running out of space I'm going to get a 1TB NAS drive soon to store my media on. I also have some photos stored on my google photos account and my website space. its a nightmare

picasa is good for not having to think about photo locations, just search picasa for the photo you need, this works ok if you only have one pc.

Apparently we all started out with one album and then made sub albums when it got to big. Made a Non Cat album a long time back and now it needs to be split too...too big. A job for a Saturday when Catsey is slow! I have trouble finding things too even with lots of sub albums.

Give picasa a try its free and easy to use.
Well worth installing it.
