Terrific Tuesday

And why is it terrific you may ask? Simple, both girls are now back at school . And I get to spend the day doing what I want lol.

It's been ages since I started a daily, almost forgot what to say! It looks like being another glorious day here, sun is starting to burn through the thin cloud and I may just have to go in the garden again, oh dear Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Re: Terrific Tuesday

Terrific it is too! Woken by snoring husband/cats/deafening dawn chorus at about 0530 this morning so have been up and about for ages. It's a beautifully sunny and bright morning here too - I think only the western edge of the country will have overcast weather today.

I have decided that today is going to be completely dedicated to what the boys want to do . . . we are heading off to the lovely Beale Park shortly - as it's just down the hill from our office OH will probably join us for a couple of hours. Dominik was bouncing around all excited when he woke up this morning (neither woke before 0730 ).

We had a very productive meeting last night between 4 of the 6 houses in our terrace and have decided that we are going to re-instate the railings that ran along the front of the house before they were melted for the war effort. We're going to try and get them as close to the originals as possible.

I'll post an ancient pic of the railings later . . . gotta dash now

Re: Terrific Tuesday

Good morning! It's still a little dull and grey here but a glimmer of brightness is trying to burn through. I'm afternoon shift so will miss the best part of the day. Yola the railings project sounds very interesting and I'm sure will improve the look of the terrace

Our kids went back to school yesterday, but as usual, we have responsibility for our grandson from 3:15 pm until his mother collects him ... maybe at 7pm. It's a hard task, some days, esp. when OH has to cope by himself like today as I'm in work. There's homework to complete and his tea/ evening meal to prepare and get him to eat ( fussy eater ). By the time he arrives home his mum gets him showered and put to bed. Feel sorry for the kid, having such little family time in his own home. I admire you girls for working and finding time for your kids! It's hard being a grandparent tho, I think without us his parents relationship would be over as her ( dawter) job is very demanding. We pick up the pieces as always.

Good morning. Just checking in quickly. Flying back overnight tonight; hope to be home about 1-2pm tomorrow if there aren't any delays and will collect my runaway and his brother before the end of the afternoon! Report and pics on Thursday I guess.
Glad the sun is likely to be shining for our return!

Re: Terrific Tuesday

A lovely day here also, the storm moved more quickly than predicted so the sun is shining and it's 14C now. Much nicer than yesterdays cold rain. Did the market run and finally planted the crocosmias; hope they do better than the last ones I planted, And that the squirrel doesn't decide to have them for lunch ..... !

Yola, that sounds like a great project! DM, have a safe flight home and hug the returnee for me, please!

Enjoy the day, everyone, hope it's good for all.
