Marvellous May Day

Pinch, Punch; First of the Month!

It's a gorgeous day. Dinah and I have just done the Walk Through The Woods (without the consequences of the Morse story, I'm pleased to report) and it was just gorgeous. Clear blue sky, sun, all the shades of spring green, horse chestnut trees with wonderful white 'candles' - everything that's good about an English spring. You can imagine that there will be dancing round the maypole somewhere.

Had a disturbed night. Bentley was a little sick on the stairs. I did hear "Blooop, bloo-oop, bleaugh" but played dead, kept my breathing low and OH got up to deal with it (hope he doesn't get to read this!) It was only a little puddle, so he didn't find it till he got up this morning and cleared it up. Hurrah for stain-resistant carpet! Hurrah for being able to lie doggo and act all suprised and innocent! I guess that was yesterday's worming causing a reaction.

I must go off to town and run a few errands. Back later. Have a nice MayDay everyone

Re: Marvellous May Day

Glad you have a nice day DM. It was gorgeous here around 7 this morning, blue sky and I was looking forward to getting outside and maybe having a little sit and read in the sunshine - it's all my fault because then the sea mist started rolling in and it's cold and clammy outside now - so I'll be getting the duster out instead!

Re: Marvellous May Day

Lovely morning all pity I can't really appreciate it as I'm sniffing and wiping my eyes full of a head cold! Nope it isn't swine fever ( no Mexican connections) just a rather contagious little bu**er I caught off OH. It's rather put the mockers on my planned hot stones massage for this afternoon at 3pm. The thought of being wrapped in fluffy white towels listening to Eastern music and visualising sandy shores has been overtaken by the sound of my sneezes and the constant drip of my nose

Thankfully, his cold passed quite quickly so working up a sweat here cleaning etc. to hurry this one along too.

Posh is mewling her head off wanting to go out and sit in the sun but I'm ignoring her pleas, the window will have to suffice for now. Gorgeous out tho, maybe laters.

Morning all. A lovely day here too. Just been for a potter round the shops, nothing much to buy. Going up to Manchester tomorrow, so best clean out the car in a little bit. Why is it that even though I bought the girls back seat tidys, it still looks like a tip??? Hope everyone has a great day (and hope you feel better soon PP )

Re: Marvellous May Day

Hi there! Just back from town and buying a replacement pair of glittery flip flops for the shoddy ones I returned to Accessorize (jewels fell off after being worn once ). Sebi's the proud owner of a tough plastic dumper truck which he's wheeling around the garden at the moment.

My other railing man came today - was far more impressed as he brought pattern books and really seemed to understand a lot more about what we were looking to achieve.

Am about to sort lunch and then have an hour or so in the garden before heading off to collect Dominik - we'll be popping to the allotment on the way back from the school as I suspect a fair few things need watering.

Re: Marvellous May Day

Not particularly nice here, we're caught in an unstable weather system, so it's grey and drizzly, although a bit warmer, 19C now. Everything is flowering now, azaleas and dogwood in high bloom, will try for a pic this afternoon. The news here is all swine flu all the time: several confirmed cases in Maryland and Virginia, one here in the City. No deaths, these seem to be mild cases. Ah well, what will be will be ....
No news really, just the usual market run.

Leesy, look forward to the pics. Yola, do keep us posted on the railings. Janey...packing??? PP, hope you shake that nasty cold soon!

Happy May Day, everyone!
