Re: Can we have a biscuit please....

I'd willingly give them a biscuit, I have a few peanut butter and apple ones left from my last batch of doggie baking!

(Oops, that soounds as though I baked the dog! - I didn't, honest!)

Peanut butter and apple sounds delicious! Are you sure they are just for dogs?????

I've just eaten my tea time digestive biscuit, so I'm afraid your trio will have to wait until tomorrow's tea time, Moli -sorry!

It's a recipe from a book called "The Healthy Doggie Biscuit Book" by Jonna Anne.

Last Christmas my son popped it into my stocking as a bit of a joke, it came with 3 biscuit cutters (bone, kennel and fire hydrant) I think it's an American publication as there are ingredients in the book that I don't recognise and the fire hydrant is definitely American in style!
I''m working my way through the book with varying success. Here's the recipe for dog-owners among you. I store them in small quantities in the freezer as they don't keep long at room temp.

75g Rolled Oats
500g Wholewheat flour
130g Peanut Butter (I use "Whole Earth" from Holland & Barrett - no salt/sugar
350g Raw Apples (supposed to be minced but I grate mine)
225ml Water

1 Mix oats & flour in bowl
2 Add peanut butter & apples
3 Add water to bind for rolling
4 Roll to about 1cm thickness & cut out shapes
5 Bake at 190C/Gas5 for 20 mins or until crisp.

I've had to bake them for much longer as they stay quite moist, think I'll try a slightly higher temp next time.

Makes about 36.
