Summer Thursday!

It's summer! I've decided! After all that wind and rain and grey, we have woken to a clear sky, still air and summer warmth! Hurrah! Is this the start of the predicted heatwave summer? If it is, it will be a bit of a trial - Brits can normally only cope with heat for a few days, maximum couple of weeks, at a time.
So, a nice day in prospect - dog walk, to the market for yet more bedding plants, to the allotment and I'm hoping the warmth will stay to allow us to eat outside tonight - maybe even a barbecue?
I do hope the sun is shining on you too.

Re: Summer Thursday!

Morning DM, morning all.
Look like another nice day here.
Am exhausted, another sleepless night, having big trouble with that box thing DM. The trouble is that no matter how I look at the outcome of what i should do, it's not going to be pleasant and may have upsetting consequences for more than just me. Sometimes i wish I could be more detatched emotionally.
Anyway, off to get ready to walk the dogs now and will see what transpires today.
Erin is coming up today too as she has a job interview tomorrow. Fingers crossed all goes well for her.
Have a good day all.

Re: Summer Thursday!

Loads of washing out in the garden today, looks like it's going to stay fine all afternoon too.

I wish I'd had a camera to hand earlier (isn't it always the way?) I was just coming out of the bathroom and surprised Molly mid-squat in the litter tray, she gave me one of her flinty "do you mind!" looks and then went off under the spare bed. Honestly for a young cat, that girl does not have a very active life-style.

Found another tick on the dog this morning, don't know how I missed it yesterday as he gets a very thorough check over after his woodland walks and I managed to find 2 of them immediately. Horrid, horrid things!

Sorry you're still having sleep problems Elaine, I joined you last night. I was awake until 4am!

Re: Summer Thursday!

It's a lovely 'summer' day here too!

Managed to get the washing out early this morning then went into town to pick up our flight tickets. Now to start packing!

Cassie is outdoors lazing in the sun ..........probably trying to soak up the warmth as she was furminated earlier..

Elaine. I hope you can come to some decision about this worry that you have, the sooner you can get it sorted, the sooner you'll be able to relax again.
Say hi! to Erin and I hope her job interview goes well tomorrow..

Re: Summer Thursday!

Good afternoon all. Have now sought some proffessional advice about my dilema and it seems that I may just have to walk away politely and proffessionally from the situation rather than go in all guns blazing. I am not in control of the situation and need to keep my integrity intact. As you can imagine this does not sit well with me but i do also have to consider the damage that may be done to my business if I dont just bow out gracefully.
Life sometimes sucks and sometimes that's just how it is, sadly.
Erin is here and knackered after a 12 hour bus journey. We are just off to head down town so I can show her where she has to go for her interview tomorrow.
Donna, am posting your pouches on the way, sorry for the delay.

Re: Summer Thursday!

Glad things are clearer Elaine. Sometimes we all have to bite our tongues and bow out without too much damage. I'm not a good compromiser so I can sympathise with some of your frustrations!

How exciting that Erin's arrived. Please wish her all the luck in the world for this interview - it would be awesome if she were able to move up to Aberdeen!

Here it is warm and sunny and we've just come back from another wonderful 'have lunch with your child' - this time with Dominik. So I'm trying to ignore the fact that I'm about to explode with the most delicious cottage pie on the planet and am TRYING to do some work!

I'm also struggling with this cold/sore throat/headache thing . . . hopefully some time in the sunshine over the next couple of days will do the trick

I have an extra 1/2 hour in the office today as Domi has art club which doesn't finish until 5 . . . must get on

Re: Summer Thursday!

Summer here on my side of the Pond also: 23C and will make 28 or more by afternoon...brilliant blue skies, low humidity and a gentle breeze! Supposed to last thru Sunday and then go down hill Monday which is the Memorial Day holiday here, the unofficial start of Summer. Typical!! Skipped the market and spent time in the garden doing some needed work and taking a few more pics.

Elaine, glad you've come to a decision, even though it may not be the one you wanted; at least the indecision about what to do has been resolved. Do say hi to Erin for me and I'm wishing her success in the interview; would be great if she could come to Aberdeen. Yola, hope some sun time will bake those bugs out of your system; you haven't had a good time healthwise lately. Janey, thanks for the recipe, sounds yummy! Mags, glad Cassie's better and enjoying the sun; know you're looking forward to the holiday. Is it the 31st you leave?

Hope the sunshine continues for us all!
