Thursday thread

Morning. Bright sunny and warm - what a change from yesterday. I'll just do the customary - but the gardens will appreciate it
Mags - did you hear there's a heatwave in Croatia? - 35C in Split Phew. I hope it calms down a bit for you - we all like it hot, but too hot is not nice.
I'm off to Mum's shortly, so I'll see you all later. have a good day

Re: Thursday thread

Morning! It's a lovely warm morning in Reading too; white cloud though which I hope will lift.

I have a final 2nd interview to conduct at lunchtime as OH came home full of praise for the girl he interviewed yesterday evening. Then it'll be decision time

The boys have their last holiday care day today and I have the joy of their company tomorrow LOL!

I have so much to get through today that I'll sign off for now and hopefully be back later.

Re: Thursday thread

Bright and sunny here too and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend ahead..

Just packed Cassie's holiday bag ........ blankie, ball, new toy and not forgetting her well chewed 'innerless' mouse which she takes to bed with her every night! We're taking her to the cattery tomorrow as it will give us more time on Saturday..

DM, thanks for the weather report, Split is over 100mls away from where we're staying and rain has been forecast for us!!! We are used to the hot temperatures after the 35-40šs we had in Egypt last year but that was more bearable due to the low humidity there

Enjoy your day!

Afternoon all,

Its cloudy and warm here 18c.

Ive been to work today and im now chilling, whooo.

Some of the ticks (big ones, ewww) have fell off the black cat, thank god! hope the rest fall off now. Should we leave them alone until we take him the vets next week? they wont cause any infections will they?

Re: Thursday thread

Sun is out now and supposed to warm up later in the afternoon...it's 24C now ....but more t'storms predicted. 35C in Split (love the name!) sounds fine to me ...that's common here in July/August. Didn't have any errands to do today so just pottered about a bit in the garden checking things after the torrential rains. Beans not up yet!

Mags, cute story about Cassie taking her mouse to bed at night. Elaine, hope the cold gets better soon. Janey, why not ask the vet about the ticks...think it might be better to get them off Mr. No-Name.

Have a good day!

Re: Thursday thread

Hi all, Clammy would be the best way to describe today. Some of the seeds coming up in my herb garden - mint, chives, dill and corriander.

Some flower seeds poking their heads up too.

Not much else happening, evening in and day off tomorow.

Re: Thursday thread

CM, watch that mint it's a rampant grower and will take over the whole space if allowed! When I moved here there was mint in the back yard that had expanded over a good 5 foot square...took me several years to get rid of it all....leave one bit of root in and back it comes! I grow it in a pot now.

I have put the mint in the top of the herb pot. The rest of the herbs are annuals. By next year I will transplant it into a large pot where it'll stay.

I learned this the same way as you - will never let mint grow freely again
