Re: Rainy Saturday

Weather here same as you janey, it's been 'tamping' down. And rumbles of thunder too. Very thick mist now and drizzle. Nope not a nice day at all for June.

Did my bit of shopping this morning, didn't buy anything special though, but my grandson got his promised Nintendo lite. He's been ever so good in school this year, deserves a treat for all the hard work he's put in. We got him a Brain Academy game too, to help keep him going

My trip to the cinema is off though, as we had a phone call to say my mum and dad's house was nearly flooded during the thunderstorm. The Water Board are on the way to clear the drains!

Stay safe and dry everyone!

Re: Rainy Saturday

Hi Janey and PP!

It's grey and cool here, but not yet raining. OH is cross because the Welsh Open (golf) at Cardiff has been rained off - sorry to hear about your parents' house PP - hope they are still managing to keep dry? I want the summer to come back!!

I've been doing some work in the greenhouse, where it is reasonably warm. Kizzy was curled up asleep in her bed, but I've just looked round and she's gone again! She's so quiet - and just appears from nowhere!

I do hope Kazz has a better journey off on her holiday today.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Rainy Saturday

It's been raining fairly consistently here all day. Not cold though. I've been to have my nails done - they all broke because I gardened without gloves - so because they are so short I've had them done baby pink. Have just painted toes to match
OH took the boys for a long duck-feeding walk along the Thames earlier, they're now watching a DVD which I shall join them in shortly.

We did a bit of watering at the allotment last night but the rain is doing a great job of it today. Oh, and I have 4 baby tomatoes on my plants which are now in the south facing front garden!

Re: Rainy Saturday

Kizzy bought in a baby Great Tit - we were too late to rescue it. She was soundly told off by OH. She's back asleep in her bed now.

Re: Rainy Saturday

A belated hello from a very cross me. Why am I cross? - the weather forecast. It's actually dry and reasonable here BUT the forecast was very wet from about 11am. So, I shopped early and then set to on a major clean-up/tidy/throw out in the spare bedroom; one of those all day, move the furniture, get a throwaway box, get an Oxfam box, sort out the books etc tidies.
It's been good all day BUT the forecast is now for a filthy day all day tomorrow - but that's when I was going to garden. Grrr.

Angie - ho hum. That's what cats do. That's why nature is so wasteful of small prey creatures. It's the other end of the stick, as far as cat owning is concerned, to the prips and cuddles.

Hope Kazz had a good journey - I think there was heavy rain on the M5

Re: Rainy Saturday

You're getting the rain now, hope it isn't a three day soaker like we just had! It finally stopped after dinner last night; cloudy now and a tad warmer, 18C, with the promise of afternoon sun .... skipped the library run as I have enough to read, so pottering about. Will check the garden later.

I hope Kazz had a safe getaway also. Yola, last I looked I had three small tomatoes, standard ones; didn't do cherry tomatoes this year. DM, life is not fair sometimes, right?
Angie, quite a little huntress you have there, just doing what comes naturally,, bless her.

Hope it'll be a dry and sunny Sunday!

Re: Rainy Saturday

No rain here today, but it hasn't been very nice weather wise, OH and me popped to town bought ourselves a new phone for home (other one was broken), a new scratching post for the cats (they have used this already) and some binoculars for when we go on holiday and for looking down the garden at the birds.

Then decided we need to have a sort out of our loft, as we are hopefully planning a loft conversion, one car full of rubbish later it looks a lot better. Also got some bits to put on ebay as well, hopefully make a few pennies as well.

Re: Rainy Saturday

Well we are having a nice break from the 90 degree hot weather. It's not raining but it's dark and windy. As long as the wind doesn't pick up enough to where the electricity goes out I'm fine with it
The fish tank is finally here, I must update that thread. It's sitting on our trailer right now. Suspect OH is out right now rounding up people to get it transported into the garage.
We did most of our errands last night to avoid the crowds. Suspect OH will be busy with his project today so I will spend some quality time with a baby ferret who wants to play 24/7 while her elder siblings sleep
Not much planned. Maybe watch one of the movies I ordered from Netflix "Underworld, Rise of the Lycans".
Oh dear, hear Annie making her deaf play noises (sounds like sqwuaking). Must run to let her out and burn off that baby energy.
Toodles
