Fireflies!

The mention in the Summer Ball thread reminded me...I saw the first fireflies of the season last night while I was enjoying the evening on the front porch. So I guess Summer is really here. Anyone else seen them yet?

Re: Fireflies!

We don't get fireflies in Scotland DM. I'd love to see them 'live' but I just have to make do with tea lights!!

Re: Fireflies!

I didn't know that! What a pity, they are so lovely to watch, sort of the essence of a lovely Summer night.

Re: Fireflies!

Oh wow, I had assumed that glow worms were what we call fireflies.....seems they're not, and not found in the UK. I did find this very interesting article IMO about your glow worms. The males don't light up, and apparently they are not too often seen.
