Monday Daily Thread

It's warm dry but a little oppressive this morning.
I've had a lovely weekend with my son visiting and we went to my mum for lunch yesterday. Son says he can fix my 'dead' desktop PC. I've lost stored emails but nothing else. All my precious pictures are safe and stored on an external hard drive

I'll see you next month! Be good, be healthy and have fun.

DM, didn't know you were off on hols, lucky you!! Enjoy.

In the office again today, Not much else to report apart from that. The weather's humid and slightly overcast and I have a pain under my shoulder blade which hurts when I breathe. That coupled with the fact that I had to sleep (or not sleep in this instance) in the spare room with Sebi as he was very frightened by something or had a bad dream means that I've felt better!!

Morning all!

DM, enjoy your holiday!

It's a beautiful morning here, OH is gardening, laundry half done, time for coffee!

Woke up with very swollen hands and painful wrists today, the anti-inflammatories don't seem to be doing much so I think I'll give the rheumatology nurse a ring in a while. Last time I needed to contact her the recorded message said that due to staffing problems the help-line was only open on Wednesday mornings!

Have a good day folks.

Morning everyone

Lovely day here if a little overcast.

Mrs H is there an online service at all for your .rheumatology nurse .........? sorry to hear you are in discomfort I think rheumatics and arthritis are very undersung... like mental illness, and backpain. Oh well that my thoughts. Sounds like a nice day though.

DM Off on hols again....have a good time. Where are you going? Didn't know you had a dead desktop either...are you using the baby laptop...and still finding it as good as you hoped.

Yola Sorry you are a bit rough, hope the day gets better do you think the pain is caused to sleeping while tense?

See you all later. Karen

Re: Monday Daily Thread

I had the pain before Karen, I'm just hoping it's not a return of any kind of lung infection, that was horrid. It's eased off a bit at the moment so will keep up with the painkillers for a little longer and hope it clears up.

Kazz - No, there's no online service for the rheumatology nurse. I have 2 helpline numbers and no-one's picking up either of them this morning Grrr! I'll just take some painkillers and try again later on this afternoon.

Re: Monday Daily Thread

Afternoon all! Hope you ladies suffering from pain get relief soon, shame about the helpline, that's not a good service is it? Seems there's staffing crises all through the NHS

Had a busy little Fathers day yesterday, 2 lovely well babies, a boy and a girl, then a sad event of a baby that had died in utero, nearly full term too. As you can imagine the lovely couple are devastated. What an awful thing to happen and there's seems to be no obvious reason for it

My little tribe here are all all, Posh not fussy on the Whiskas fish range, will stick to poultry then; still likes her treats of ham and chicken Old Bron is keeping going but her cataracts are really thick now, and she is using her nose to find us, she's also very deaf.

Not other news. A night shift tonight, then a few days off, spending time with friends from Plymouth who are visiting this w/e.

Re: Monday Daily Thread

I do sympathise with you MrsH and Yola feeling poorly. I've had a painful weekend and am just beginning to feel a bit better. Had a shower and washed my hair which generally is the beginning of "feeling better". Just feel washed out, which is perhaps appropriate!

Where are you off to for your holidays DM? Wherever it is, have a lovely time. Will you be "Missing Presumed Having a Good Time" for long?

Kizzy has been behaving a wee bit strangely since yesterday evening. She is very clingy and doesn't want to be left alone. She's been sleeping a lot. Maybe something scared her in the garden or perhaps she's not feeling tip top. She's eating OK - can't tell about her toileting as she goes outside now. Her eyes are bright - there's nothing I can put my finger on. I'll keep an eye on her - she's such a comfortable little bundle it's easy to do.

Have a good day everyone. Hope things start improving for poorly people.

Sun is shining and it's blue sky here. A bit sticky though.

Re: Monday Daily Thread

I do hope the poorly people start to feel better soon.

To answer questions put
Yes, I am still using the netbook/notepad baby laptop. It's a Samsung NC10 and I love it. The screen is quite big enough for 'leisure uses' (I wouldn't fancy trying to look at a Spreadsheet 9-5 on it), the keyboard is lovely - big enough, nice positive feel, it has 8 hours battery life and I love it!
We're off to SW France, vis Spain and the Pyrrenes early Wednesday. Back two weeks later. Bet we don't get news while we're waiting to board the ferry like we did when we were waiting to board the plane last trip!

I intend having a very good time.

Is there anything I can virtually bring back for the Cats' Summer Ball? Le Catviare? Feline Champers? Catembert cheese etc?

I'm taking the netbook, so if I find a wi-fi spot I'll try to look in. Be good
