Friday's Thread

Morning! At home with Sebi today which is nice. We'll potter into town later and then I will go over and enroll in the gym

Yesterday was a super day; a quick dash into Selfridges where the sales had started. Hadn't bargained for that as it made looking for my 'special' sandals trickier as there was loads of junk to wade through. Still, finally treated myself to a rather nice pair of strappy flat Chanel sandals which were almost 1/2 price

Then onto BAFTA to meet my friend. Very productive meeting which involved me periodically peering around to see if I could spot anyone famous. Richard kept laughing and asking me if I recognised anyone!! Sadly not I did get chatted up by a very dapper octogenerian gent though which was very sweet as he said he liked my hair - which is currently blonde, black and auburn stripes

It was so great to be in London - must make an effort to get up there more often.

Anyway, today here it is grey with intermitent big plops of rain . . . but I still suspect the allotment will need a watering

Re: Friday's Thread

Morning! Dull and overcast today.

Someone threw up a huge furball into one of the cat beds overnight so one of them must be feeling a lot better today

Just realised, we haven't seen any ticks on the dog for a couple of days now - I wonder where they've all gone? They must be more prevalent during certain weather conditions or seasons, but this is the first time we've encountered ticks so we haven't sussed their life cycle out yet!

Weekend is just around the corner

Re: Friday's Thread

Morning all! We had a huge downpour of rain at about 5 ish this morning, so heavy it woke me up. Luckily, no thunder and lightning as forecast. Kizzy was out in the rain and so I was prepared for the arrival of a very wet cat, and she didn't disappoint. Luckily I got to her with a handful of tissues before she'd pounced on the bed! She rolled around letting me dry her and purrrred and purrrred. She is such a lovely girl. I count myself very lucky and thank Smudgley and Kazz daily!

It is very overcast and humid now, not a breath of wind. A very heavy day. OH and MIL are out of sorts as this hot weather does not agree with them and I am feeling as if I don't keep going, I'll fall asleep!

Have a good day everyone - Wooooppeeee it's Friday. What are people having for supper tonight?

Supper? I think I'll defrost the Duchy sausages as they'll go great with the giant ratatouille I'm about to cook up (I now have SO many courgettes I'm running out of things to cook with them) . . . and I bet there will be more down there today that need picking!!

If I'm good I'll leave it at that otherwise some olive oil mashed potatoes will accompany

Re: Friday's Thread

Well now, I've decided on what to have for supper and have shopped. It's a new recipe - Baked Fish with Vegetables and Herbs - I really am trying to eat healthily you see. Only trouble is that the local farm shop did not have any yellow courgettes, so I ditched the green pepper for a yellow one but do know that the taste will be different. I'll let you know how it turns out. Not a difficult meal, hopefully!

Re: Friday's Thread

Hi all. Cloudy morning but 27C which is nice; I've finally opened the bedroom windows as it's still mild at night now, so pleasant to have the doors and windows open again after the cold months! No errands to do today so just pottering. May have t'storms this afternoon. Dinner tonight is my not-quite-ministrone soup, the usual salad and a roll. I could put one of your zucchini in it if I had one Yola, they do produce, don't they?! Angie, Kizzy really doesn't mind getting wet??? All of mine acted as if a few drops of rain were sulphuric acid, especially Misty!

No news here, hope the weekend will be good for all.
