My day off today and I cant sleep any longer.

I had the best day ever wih m goddaughter and friend yesterday. We just hung out then went to a pub for our dinner then came back to mine and watched baby Emily start to crawl. She's so cute and I was too excited I forgot to take pics and vids lol.

The weather forecast for today was thunder and lightening yay. (I love thunder storms).... The rain has just started!

Not got much planned for today other than cleaning the house.

Hope eveyone has a good day.

You're up early for a day off Janey! You're meant to relax
I think today may be a bit like yesterday - bright now but a bit blustery yesterday. My feet were a little cold in bed this morning - it must be time to change away from the summer duvet. Oh dear

Re: Fridays Daily

Morning all!

Well, I am taking it easy today ..... what an afternoon it turned out to be yesterday. MIL took a tumble out of the back door (unlocked the door in order to get out) - I was doing some filing and heard a noise, rushed out but was unable to stop her falling. Called the ambulance and it was A&E for her. OH was playing golf - so waited for him to get home and then we went off to the hospital too. X-rays fine, bloods fine - a few superficial scrapes. I'll swear that woman is made of rubber. So our supervision is being increased to one of us having to be with her at all times that she is not asleep. I felt happy that if we were at least at home with her she wouln't come to any harm. Not any more. The back door now is not only locked but bolted as well, as is the front door. Just have to remember that it takes longer to open the door if we have a visitor. I can see the end of my tether ........ not far away now.

I am so very glad we bought the crate as protection for Pip. I just popped him in there before we went off to the hospital and at least we didn't have to worry that he'd get into mischief.

Feeling sort of wrung out today, hence a bit of a rest. Maybe I'll finish that filing ...........................

Have a good day everyone.

Re: Fridays Daily

It has been heavy storms with occasional sunny intervals here, still pleasant temperatures and definitely no thoughts of switching to my winter duvet yet!

It's my son-in-law's birthday today so I'm putting on a small spread for him later, expecting to see them all after Katie and Jamie's swimming lessons later this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day and a lovely weekend ahead...

Re: Fridays Daily

Duvets? Duvets? What's all this talk about duvets? Good grief, what are you made of? Chez les H, it's a cotton sheet and nowt else this time of year with the option of having a little blanket over the tootsies, 'cos they get cold easily. Mind you, Mr H and I have a fair few spare pounds of flesh (or what my RA consultant called "subcutaneous tissue" ) to help keep us warm!

It's raining again, occasional downpours of very fierce but very short showers.

It was the optician's this morning and good news, no change from my last consult so there's a saving - no new specs needed. The pressure test gave a highish reading so I have to have a re-check in 6 months but that's not a problem.

Weekend approaching and no plans here, anyone going to do anything interesting?
Have fun anyway!

Re: Fridays Daily

Safe (and not too tedious) journey to you from me too Moli.

Angie - I hope you have had a more peaceful day; I don't envy you your situation but admire the way you are coping. It's not easy, is it?

Duvet changed - my circulation closes down beneath the knees as the temperature drops, and I can't stand cold feet in bed. Did you know you can't sleep if your feet are cold (apparently)? Heaven knows what mountaineers and Eskimos do if that is the truth

We're off to the Italian restaurant tonight, which will be a nice change from 'curry Friday'. Nice and self-indulgent and we tell ourselves we're keeping the wheels of the economy ticking over!

Went to one dog rescue but nothing suitable (actually not very many dogs at all) and have another one to visit tomorrow or Monday which has an ex-puppy farm bitch needing a home. We'll have to see her and se how 'un-normal' she appears. Poor little thing. I have half a feeling that the rescues should refuse to handle the 'by-products' of this filthy trade, but what would happen to them then? I dread to think

Oh dear - a Friday rant Sorry.

Have a good Bank Holiday weekend everyone and I'll drop ion when I can and inform you of any progress. I'll have to be a good hostess though, so may not get on every day
