Ear irritation

Dylan's been scratching his ear an awful lot this evening, it's his left ear.

I'll be phoning the vets tomorrow to get an appointment for him, but what could be causing the irritation in his ear? His right ear is absolutely fine, it's his left ear that he's scratching a lot

I've had a look and I can't see anything obvious

Re: Ear irritation

If it's anything other than just a bit of wax, it could be mites. They are common around this time of year and, I believe easily treated with ear drops.

Re: Ear irritation

If he is really scratching it then its more than likely mites.
Your vet will probably prescriped some ear drops that are to be done twice a day.
Good luck tomorrow

Forgot about this thread

It was a slight build up of ear wax that's now cleared

Re: Ear irritation

Good news RCR - no mites (lord, they must tickle).
