Sumaks?? Is this what you were referring to when you were saying Zumaks are singing?? Why was I thinking you had some eternally exotic birds in your garden?? We had one of these in our front garden for several years (it was the neighbour's actually). But in the strong winds the other year it keeled over. I do miss its pretty colour displays but I don't miss having to pull out all the masses of shoots it kept throwing out each year that grew all over the place. |

Yes you're right Yola - the roots are a pain but I think worth it for the wonderful autumn colour and the leaf form, which I like. I cut them right down every year so at least I don't get the candles and seedlings everywhere. |
