Columbus Day Daily

Well, it is Columbus Day holiday here, so as I'm starting it (where is everyone?!) I'm titling it. And a cold gloomy day it is, only 8 degrees , and cloudy; supposed to be a sunny day. Back to Trader Joes to get the shiu mai dumplings they were out of last week, so the freezer is stocked now. Nothing else going on, so will head over to OFF to see what everyone is up to there..

Have a nice day ....

Re: Columbus Day Daily

We've had such a busy time today, took the dog to the beach and it was absolutely glorious!

We went to West Wittering near Chichester, the sky was brilliant blue, the sea flat calm and close to low tide so there was a huge amount of sand for him to run on. Temp was about 16C but felt much warmer in the sun. Only problem is, he got bored with running into the sea to get his retrieval dummy, and just after I'd thrown it in as far as I could, he flatly refused to go and get it and we just had to watch it bobbing about, out of reach! So, If anyone's down there in the next day or so and sees an orange dummy washed up by the tide, it's mine!

Re: Columbus Day Daily

It's been a glorious day here too - Pip has been out for his walk in the sunshine and half way round we were joined by Kizzy. I had to take care to keep Pip away from a couple of wasps - they were out taking advantage of the sunshine too. Must remember to get a photo of the huge number of Yew berries this year - they were attracting those pesky wasps.

We had a visit from the Memory Nurse. She is so "simpatica" and easy to talk to. Gave us several more ideas to take forward. MIL is seeing the psychiatrist again on 23rd.

I should go down to the Witterings more often MrsH - shame about Morgan's dummy. I used to know several beachcombers down that way ..... who knows, it may turn up in someone's sculpture of object trouve!!

Hope you enjoy Columbus Day, Eileen. Is it celebrated with special events or just a nice day off? Today's Shockwave jigsaw is of a sculpture of Capt. Columbus.

Re: Columbus Day Daily

Evening! It's been a busy day. Visited a potential school for the boys but it didn't really do it for us. OH make me laugh on the way back when he said it smelt like incense and cabbage (only those who went to a Catholic convent school will relate to that ).

I've been lining up interviews for 2 positions at work; one new and one a replacement for a (hurrah) leaver. We have 6 over the next few days and although I'm not conducting them fully, I will need to sit on on a large part of them so not much else will get done.

And I've still got these blasted casino websites to write. Which is what I've been doing tonight once the boys were in bed. Getting tired now hence drifted over here . . .

Blimey - just remembered I've got the quiz to host this week . . . no pressure then
