Very dull here, the air is very still, I wonder if there's bad weather coming? The weekends are so much more relaxing since I retired, I no longer have to dash around fitting in all the chores. I think I might get the carpet shampoo out and "do" the carpet on the landing, there are a couple of dull patches where the cats have coughed something up and hand cleaning hasn't been good enough. I also must try to get to Boots as their current 3for2 offer finishes on 3rd November and I need to stock up on the Intense Serum, hoping that it'll work its magic. Have a good Saturday everyone! |

It was soggy here, but has cheered up in the last half an hour and the sun is shining now - hope it is where you are. Happy Halloween! Pick up a Pumpkin and Dance with a Bat! Been to the farm shop for some veg and the chemist for Dispersable Aspirin that MIL takes to ward off angina. Can anyone tell me since when you can't buy the little plastic pot of 100 aspirin for around 99p???? Only sold now in those blister packs of 28! Another nanny state ruling I suppose in case you want to do away with yourself. Bah! Well done to your OH, btw, MrsH - just caught that last thing last night. He, and you, must be feeling very proud. Hope Morgan gave him an extra special lick last night! Forgot to say yesterday that we'd also started our first batch of limoncello. I had a sample of the proper Italian drink from my first Italian teacher - her homemade brew, but they use something like 95% alcohol in Italy which is not available here. Today, OH has started off the pickled onions. Another first - my parents always used to do pickled onions, which were wonderful but very powerful! A question for the cooks amongst you, and I know we have several here on the forum - when would you make your C*******s cake???? Have a great day everyone. |

Soggy here too but milder, 15 degrees, with heavy cloud cover and rain predicted later for the Trick or Treaters, sorry to say. Skipped the library as I suspect the new Dan Brown will last me the week; just got gin. So will be a quiet day, We go back to Standard time tonight so I'll have the joy of changing sll the clocks tonight, not a favorite chore.... Angie, I don't understand why the low dose aspirin costs more than the regular 325 mg one; surely it can't be that much more expensive to manufacture? I take the regular to avoid heart/stroke problems, have for more than 20 years. Also, 99P for 100 doesn't sound too bad. I just got a bottle that size for $2.00, and that was on sale! Can you get 90 proof spirits there, we can, Hope it's a good day for all. |

Thanks MrsH! I have my dried fruit ready, but need to make sure I have fresh lemon and orange. Guess it needs about 6 weeks to "mature" with the aid of alcohol of choice??? |
