Saturday's Thread

Morning all, it's coffee time chez les H and I must say MrH makes a good brew!

We've just been to the docs for our Swine Flu jabs (fingers crossed we've done the right thing!) I got told that I have to have a 2nd one in about 3 weeks time. That's because with my immuno-suppressant anti RA drugs, I'm particularly vulnerable, not what I wanted to hear! I thought I'd type this out before my right arm gets sore or whatever

Hope I don't feel rotten over the weekend son and his fiancee are coming down from London later on today and daughter should be flying back from the US shortly, so we're in for a good old family weekend.

Have fun today everyone.

Re: Saturday's Thread

You did the right thing IMO MrsH. It's the first time that there has been vaccine available to fight a pandemic and I think individuals have to act responsibly and get the jab. I had mine done nearly a fortnight ago and had a hard lump that was itchy/sore, but apart from that nothing else. The vaccine is inert so you shouldn't suffer any flu-like symptoms. Sorry to hear you have to have 2 jabs. Hope you have a lovely weekend wth your family.

I hear that more heavy rain is expected in Cumbria over the weekend. My heart goes out to those people, especially as parts of Cumbria are in my heart anyway, having had many happy holidays there in younger days.

Bit gloomy here, but amazingly warm - did I say I have bearded irises in bud???? Crazy - went and gave them a good talking to this morning.

Not confident that we'll do anything in the rugby this afternoon against the All Blacks - but I expect a lot of swearing from OH, so maybe it'll be earplugs for me, MIL, Kizzy and Pip. Do your best lads.

Otherwise all is well here - toad in the hole for supper. Naughty, but nice!

Have a good day peeps!

Re: Saturday's Thread

Hi, MrsH, Angie! Heavy clouds earlier but the sun is breaking thru now and it looks to be a nice day, albeit seasonably cold, 10 (51 F). Too chilly for Leia, she tried the porch for a few minutes and headed back to her chair in the sun. Did my usual library run, nothing special on the agenda. Hope the forecast for Cumbria is wrong, last thing they need is more rain... .

I'm still not getting a flu shot!

Enjoy the day!

Re: Saturday's Thread

Hello all! My voice is still hiding somewhere under the piano which made going to the boys' school Christmas Fayre interesting this afternoon . . . still I got lots of sympathy
It started raining about 2.30pm and now it's hammering down . . . I hope it stops as Domi's riding tomorrow and I don't want it too waterlogged.

I had my ordinary flu-jab yesterday . . . boy my arm is sore! Sebi had his 1st MMR and he didn't bat an eyelid; that's one tough little boy. Domi's due for his 2nd about now and is snivelling at the thought of it LOL!

Lovely spicy taco shells for dinner tonight . . . boys have just had tuna/sweetcorn with pasta and mayo and fruit for pudding.

I'm about to join them upstairs to watch Star Wars Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks!!
