New Years Day Daily

Well, here we go, a brand new year ahead; who knows what it will bring. Let's hope it's happier and healthier than the last one.

Slept in; watched the Times Square celebration last night. I've transferred all the birthdays/anniversaries to my new calendar and have written "10" on a dozen checks so I won't use the old date from force of habit; so am all set, Mostly cloudy and cold here, 35 F (forgot to check the Celsius :blush. No plans for the day, just chillin'. Having ham and cabbage with black eyed peas, the traditional meal, tonight.

Hope all are well and having a good day.

Re: New Years Day Daily

Ooh ham sounds good. I got one at the store last night, they were on sale for 98 cents a pound! Will have to pop into the oven today so I can enjoy later on, think I'll join you in that, Eileen!
Temps up here quite a bit (48 F) but rain is steadily coming down and the wind is acting up again. Times like this I hope all the strays/ferals out there have a nice shelter to hunker down in.
K works per usual today, no holiday for him. Not much planned except some reading and if the rain lets up might run out to the library real quick to pick up some books I have on order. Oh wait, they're probably closed. Scratch that
Have a good one and Happy New Year

Re: New Years Day Daily

Hello, I've had a good day today. Decided to spend the day in the garden - gave the cat pens a real good scrubbing, and cleaned out the chickens. Enjoyed that & it wasn't too cold really. I collected the first rescue cat for this year, he's been wormed / flea treted / microchipped and fed and watered! Just his bits to chop off and his blood test & he'll be ready for homing!
John cooked a really lovely turkey dinner and I came in just as he had dished it up, perfect timing. It was really nice, his brother joined us for dinner & is still here, they are playing on the wii with the kids. I've loaded a few photos and am just having a coffee now.
