Very Frosty Saturday!

But sunny and blue sky - quite cold, but cheerful.

OH and I went out in the garden to feed the birds and Pip and Kizzy came outside too. I do so wish I had a camcorder because Pip's joy at being outdoors is catching! He is beside himself with delight and is just so entertaining to watch. He races back and forth, sniffing the air, jumping and pouncing on leaves and bits of grass. Every bird that flies over is noticed and he doesn't want to come back indoors. That's my worry really - he won't come to his favourite treats (from RCR) being shaken or my calling his name. We have to ambush him by playing with a grass stalk and luring him in via Kizzy, who always comes for treats or having her name called.

Oh, and Kizzy had a rather large vole later on. How can my beautiful girl do such things???? I won't go into the details.

Have put several varieties of seed to sprout ....... looking forward to munching them in a sandwich!

MIL unfortunately is in a very frosty mood too - the reduction in her anti psychotic medication has of course meant that her hallucinations and anxieties have increased. We've had the whole convent of nuns trooping through telling her to get out this morning. AAAAAAArh!

Re: Very Frosty Saturday!

Hi Angie, All. Bitterly cold here, an Arctic front has come down and it's not going to get above freezing for the coming week: -6 now (22 F) and wind chill is -12! Aaaugh! Only went out for the paper and that's it for the day ... too cold to go anywhere.

Pip is a real little outdoorsman isn't he: foresee problems when the weather turns milder later! He'll want to stay out all night.Have you tried any radish sprouts, they're nice in a salad, a little peppery. Sorry about MIL .....

Re: Very Frosty Saturday!

Sorry things are rough with your MIL Angie . . . hopefully your kitty antics are a good antidote.

It's been cold and bright here too. Met up with a friend in a lovely pub (well it was lovely - the new landlady is a right cow and I won't be going back there again), and we had a great catch-up chat. The boys were relatively well behaved and played in the large garden.

OH's son (the 26 year old one with the son of his own) has been given an allotment not far from our plot - more fun for the boys as their little nephew will be there to play with now
