First Monday of 2010

Well today is the first Monday of 2010, and the sun is shinning here but the frost is still on the ground and on the cars. I am off to de-ice mine in a moment.....Brrrrrrrrrr

Have a good day all and stay safe,

Just trying to catch a few people about neutering for the CP seems no one wants to answer me......
And those that do don't seem to get the jist.....

Re: First Monday of 2010

The electrician started work today on the rewiring in the house, it's going to take many days I fear. There are carpets and floorboards to lift and furniture to empty/move out of the way. I wish it was all finished! Today it's the first floor lighting, there seems to be a lot of worrying hammering going on! One cat has shot out of doors into the garden and the other is hiding somewhere (not under a floorboard I hope!)

Bright sunshine now, a very frosty and foggy start to the morning though. Going out with the dog in a bit, at least he won't be getting muddy today as the ground's so hard.

Re: First Monday of 2010

It's bitterly cold here. Again, despite heating firing full blast I'm covered in goosebumps. Briefly walked to an outdoor store today with the boys (only to find it shut - grrrrr), and it was so cold that my face hurt. Was going to go out and finish cutting the branches up in the garden but I just can't face stepping out of doors.

Re: First Monday of 2010

Afternoon all. Well, got 2 new clients today. Pup has doubled in size , she can now manage the stairs all by herself . Little ****** bit me this morning as I was trying to do up my boot laces, made me bleed too with those sharp little gnashers . More work needed on the bite inhibition .
Bloody freezing here -5 with more bloody snow on the way as of this evening.
Have made a hot beef stew for tonight and will be having it with dumplings yum yum. Need to fuel up to keep warm.

Re: First Monday of 2010

Hi everyone! Hard frost here too - still nothing melted. MIL's usual carer was back this morning and said our lane is like a skating rink - there was lots of water lying and it's not had chance to drain away, just froze where it lay.

Laundry day today (I think my tumble dryer is making odd noises!) and OH and I have ordered some new bedding for MIL and a new genealogy software package for us. I've had despatch notice from the RSPB for the new bird table I ordered. I've cleared up my desk a bit ready for new work and just sorted my new avatar. That resizing site that Eileen uses is wonderful. Not sure why resizing isn't an option on Picasa.

Beef stew with dumplings sounds absolutely lovely, but Aberdeen is too far to come for supper!!! I have chicken soup and ciabatta, so that will also be warming.

Keep safe everyone. The forecast for the week ahead is pretty lousy.

Re: First Monday of 2010

iBrrrr indeed, sounds awful on both sides of the Pond! It's bitter here too, some sun and not quite as horrible as yesterday, -5 (23 F), wind chill -11! But still too cold to think of going anywhere other than rescuing the paper, Our weekly forecast is not good for the rest of the week: still in the deep freeze,

Angie, I'm so pleased you like that resizing site; I got fed up with PB not doing it! MrsH, hope the missing cat has surfaced; sounds like a real noisy upheaval there. Elaine, now you have me wanting chicken stew with dumplings!! Yola, I sympathize, my boiler's working but it's still cooler than I like in the house.

Kazz, hows the bite today?

Stay WARM, all!

Re: First Monday of 2010

Back to work for me today, took ages to thaw the car out, it must be damp inside as the ice was on the inside of the windows too.
Nice relaxing yoga session this afternoon, then it began to snow. Must get off this forum now and make some tea
