Rainy Tuesday!

Not Elaine's Rayne, of course but the grey cold wet stuff that is coming steadily out of the clouds atm AND OH has still gone off to play golf! Obsessional I would call that or is it just dedicated?

So, I'm here MIL and pusscat sitting. Need to finish some transcription, do some laundry and if I'm very good I may get time to sort out some more family photos.

Will be back later - thoughts with poorly people and cats today. Have a good day peeps. I'm sorry for the kids on their half term break and for their parents!

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

Having been advised that my car was arriving this afternoon I took the boys into town for a smoothie and cake.Typically, I got a call just before 11 to say the chap was waiting outside my house!

Mad dash back home (didn't get to do the smoothies/cake ), and I now have a brand new Volvo SUV stood in my drive. It's OK, but not a patch on the Audi and has a rubbish turning circle which will make parking it in our tight space a pain

I have to get on with some proofreading of some U.S. text to 'Anglicise' it for a client . . . the boys are taking an Argos catalogue apart upstairs - making a visual shopping list by cutting out all the things they would like. Who needs TV/DS games???

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

I used to love the catalogue game!
Quite sunny here today, I've got the day off and have been into town for a few bits to make pancakes later.
Also went to the bank to sort out the money for my new baby, we go to collect her this weekend
Fingers are doing better, hopefully will be able to take the dressings off tomorrow. They are very itchy which I hope means they are healing.
Lx

I lost concentration for a moment and manged to 'saw' my finger tips on my left hand Had to go to casualty as couldn't stop it bleeding and got them stuck back together and dressed. Have no feeling in the tip of my index finger at the moment but I'm sure it will return as it heals, hope so anyway

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

Oh my goodness, that actually sounds very painful!!

OH did similar when he was in his early 20s . . . . except he was chopping wood with an axe All fingertips are present but with scars . . . and still no sensation in 2 of them. Hopefully yours will regain feeling soon.

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

We've had a bit of snow here today in Preston but it's not stuck.
Be sure to post some pics of your new baby PL when you have time, how exciting. We've been shopping for the pup today
Sounds like your fingers are getting better if they're itching.
Yola i think it's great when children enjoy doing traditional things like cutting up catalogues etc.
Some people say that children are too sophisticated to enjoy simple toys nowerdays but its all to do with how they're brought up surely.
That being said i'm not a complete dinosaur and think that TV, computers all have their part to play, just in moderation.

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

Absolutely Shelley! Dominik (6) has a DS and both boys have free access to the TV (although not in their rooms). They themselves will switch it off when there is something showing they're not interested in. Yesterday I was being badgered to play chess by the 6 year old . . . thankfully I can still win, but I suspect it won't be long!

Moli, yes I too adored the Audi, but it's way, way too pricey now. They were obviously doing good deals 2 years ago

Re: Rainy Tuesday!

Things are looking up here: supposed to be cloudy with possible flurries, but the sun is shining brightly; -3 (27 F). Yesterdays snow passed North of us, thank God. And Safeway has restored delivery so I have an order coming Thursday for the stuff that Giant doesn't carry. I did get my Giant order yesterday. Getting almost back to normal except still no bus; it's rerouted can't get out and have cabin fever!

Yola, glad you have wheels again even though it's not what you really wanted. PL, if the fingers are itching I believe that does mean they're healing; wish I could join you for pancakes. Still thinking of K, Kazz and Eva. Sorry about the rain, but it could have been SNOW!

Enjoy the day.
