Both Kizzy and Pip have eaten less than normal over the last few hot days. I am sure there is nothing to worry about, so long as they are drinking. I change their water two/three times a day and there is always water outdoors too for them or other cats who may need a drink. Kizzy has been sleeping a lot and Pip has been flopping - he even took refuge in the bath today. It must be really draining for them. Yesterday, even hotter, I adopted a method that Jo uses for her Aussie cats - I soaked an old cloth in cold water and just smoothed Pip's coat with it. He seemed to like it and of course licking off the water makes sure they take in extra. |

Joshua and Saskia have been off their food during the hot days tending to eat when it goes a little cooler like in the evening and early hours. They have bothed calmed down in the daytime and just charge round again when it cools down a bit. Mind you with their thick Persian coats I can't blame them. |

My cats' appetite has certainly diminished. And as mine have long coats too they feel the heat more than most which means they've only really been grazing. Poor Fifi's been flopped on the brick pavours in the basement which suck moisture from the ground beneath them and are always cool, and Myshka the dynamo has been less energetic than usual. The wet coat thing is a good idea - Mysh got caught in the rain storm today and perked up no end once he had a wet coat |

Perhaps thats why Posh has been more tired than normal, I was putting it down to resettlement lethargy also missing the company of Garfield, the blind cat in her holiday home. Still wondering if I should get a companion for her. Tried it once with Molly, but failed because I completely messed up the introduction. |
