Microchipping Costs

How much have you paid to have your cats microchipped? I am ashamed to say I havent got round to doing this yet, but I am going to get this done very soon.

Just wondering about the costs?

Re: Microchipping Costs

I charge £15 per pet, but do discounts for more. My vet charges £19.50 which is VERY reasonable for round here, most are £20-£25.00.

Re: Microchipping Costs

Our vet charges £28.50, another local vet charges £19.50, but did you know that the RSPCA will microchip for £15, at our branch you just turn up, with proof of ownership and they do it there and then! That's what we did for Harvey.

Re: Microchipping Costs

I've paid anywhere from $10 to $40, depends on the place and type of chip around here. Usually the humane society has a special or sale and some places here have coupons for a free one just to get you in the door and registered in the hopes you'll come back to them for vaccines and such.

My vets charge £19.50 which is good round here. Is anyone in your area doing a discounted microchipping day?

Well worth the effort I tell you. Especially now you have thought about it.

Re: Microchipping Costs

I paid about 25 pounds about 3 years ago when we had Posh spayed at the same time, but I think as the technology has progressed its now cheaper. All in all an excellent investment.
