I love the symbolism of a peacetime jet liner flying alongside these historical planes. A very fitting tribute - without these heroes we would not be free to fly where we like today. As a small child living on the fringes of west London I remember occasional display flights by both WWII fighter and bomber craft out of Northolt airport . . . they had very distinct sounds. My Dad could name what was flying overhead without looking up to see what it was. |
