Tuesday twists and turns

Sorry for missing you yesterday, never got time to log in. Today is full of travel plans coz I'm playing chauffeur (chauffesse?) for my mum. Her car is in the garage, poorly, and she needs a lift to a hospital appointment. Then I have to attend a funeral (2 in a week! ) and collect Tom on the afternoon school run. Ceri is staying with my dad while I run around.

At some time in the day I need to do some ironing and clean up here. I'd like to have one of those time turners that Hermione had in the Harry Potter book, Prisoner of Azkaban!

Re: Tuesday twists and turns

Hi, PP! Just us so far!

Weather a bit better today: 23 C (73 F), rain is over and sun trying to peep out. Some areas got 3" rain and flood warnings; here in the City we missed most of it. We could have used a bit more. Catching up on chores as I had a lazy do-nothing day Monday. My new pruning shears came so was out whacking ivy this morning amid a cloud of mosquitoes, ugh!

You're having an active day; I agree, a time extender would be very handy!

im sorry to hear about the 2 funerals in a week pp.

hope everyone 'enjoys' the rest of the day

Evening all - not been up to much - busy with work and then popped to the gym.

Also joined the local library - my how libraries have changed since I last been in one. All very high tech. Also means I can download ebooks and audiobooks free at home!!

Emma, do you have or contemplate getting a Kindle?

strange you should ask that Eileen - I have an Ipod touch (not an iphone) and I have downloaded the kindle software to it - it is just great!!! I have read one book on there already and I am reading another. Screen is quite small but you can change the size of the text etc and I actually find it ok to use.

I'm contemplating buying one for myself for Christmas. Do the downloads take long?

Re: Tuesday twists and turns

No not long at all Eileen. The new kindle looks great - long battery life as well - also they are great if you love reading in bed as they are lit from the back which I find easier on the eyes than reading a book.

I am thinking of getting an Ipad and you can download the kindle software to that as well. I was going to get a netbook but I love the apple products and I think that an Ipad would get more use.

Re: Tuesday twists and turns

Thanks, Emma! I've been reading in bed since I was old enough to read, have just about made up my mind to pre-order the new one.

I about went mad during the blizzards when I was snowed in for days unable to get to the library .....
