Not a dumb question at all. Many of the dogs we walk are kept on lead because they are unreliable off lead and we dont have the time to be looking for other peoples dogs, nor is it up to us to teach them recall. The few dogs we do let off lead are the ones we know for sure have a good recall. Many owners will tell us that their dogs are "better" off lead than on lead and then we ask them to sign a disclaimer to say that their dog has a reliable recall, which is when people then tell you the truth. We also never take more than 4 dogs at any one time, as that's more than enough to be keeping an eye on. |

You are a braver woman than I. Sal takes all my concentration these days, but I am getting old. Can owners specify that their dog not be walked off lead? |
