Everything is connected; the universe, Earth; plants and animals and us. We are only a part .... and we are related to everything else.

Bringing it down to focus - I, Kizzy, Pip and Harley and the chilli peppers and tomatoes that I grew in the summer are all in this together. Like a big pot.

We relate to each other and we are dependant on and with each other. We are the best and the worst of everything.

I think I may be a Buddhist.

I got really depressed about the News tonight and had to remind myself that we are all responsible.

I do agree about the great web of life, we are all connected ..... ask not for whom the bell tolls doesn't apply to humans only. The loss of a species diminishes me too ...

Of all things it was the controversy surrounding the ban on Sharia Law in Oklahoma.

I have of course only heard what's been reported in the News here in the UK, but the whole thing makes me shiver at the cynicism of banning something that doesn't exist!

That, coupled with the Tea Party makes me afraid for the USA and for us all.

That is quite depressing - amazes me what people think in terms of acceptable ways of leading their lives.

Have you seen Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui? That situation just makes me think of that play and of course the rise of Nazism.

Funny you should mention Nazism, Angie; I have often thought about that in connection with the rise of Sarah Palin...... a not very intelligent but clever silver-tongued demagogue who appeals to peoples baser instincts .......
