advice needed please

HI i have not been on for a while, but i have got a big problem with my 12 year old Maine Coon< she has started urinating in the house, in my bedroom! this has been going on for a while now and is getting worse, almost everyday, she has a litter tray which she used to use, and she does go outside to the garden ( wont venture further any more) she also has arthritis and is losing weight rapidly even though her eating and drinking seems fine, she is going to the vets tonight for a check over, but i am so worried that i am going to lose her any advice or reassuarance much appreciated xx thanks in advance

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. Perhaps you could let us know what your vet says?

yes, let us know how she gets on. the only thing that springs to mind from her symptoms is possible diabetes? perhaps you could keep an extra litter tray in your bedroom for her incase she gets caught short.

Re: advice needed please

Hope everything goes well at the vets. Maybe the problems are unrelated, she could have a urine infection and is maybe loseing weight due to a thyroid problem.
Do let us know how she goes on

Re: advice needed please

Hi,thanks for all your concern, well I have had Charis to the vets and blood tests have been done, my girl is not in a good way, she has chronic renal insufficiancy, she is on meds at minute in the hope that she will rally around but her heart is being put under pressure by this as well, I have to take her back next week to see if the meds are making any difference at all but i really think i have got a hard decision to make, am in tears while writing this, she has hidden it well, to well maybe, and now she is very unwell, hopefully she will recover ( she has surprized us all before), but i cant bear to see her like this and have got a bad feeling, am absolutley gutted.
