Hello from a Newbie

Hi everyone,

I joined here today as I had a question about one of my cats and saw how much useful information was on here so I joined.

I live in Birmingham UK with my boyfriend and our 2 cats: Smudge is a semi-longhair mixed breed female, 5 years old and I have had her since she was 12 weeks old. Chewie is my 6 year old rescue cat who I have had for 3 years.

They are like chalk and cheese my girls - Smudge is a 'look how pretty I am' kind of cat, hates getting dirty, very independent, happy with her own company and is a cat who knows what she wants (attention is given when she wants it only

Chewie is the most sociable, loving and affectionate cat I have met. She can never have too many cuddles or fusses and likes nothing better than charging onto our bed in the morning and either licking my armpit or poking my chin with her paw until I give her some affection. She can be found asleep on the back of the sofa, eating or chasing her tail as she hasn't worked out it's attached to her yet. She has a huge soft spot for my boyfriend too (after she's only 'known him' for just over a year) and will always go to his lap first.
