MEET Smokey, the moggie who puts the "ow" in miaow and the "cat" in caterwaul.
The 12-year-old cat is believed to have the loudest purr in the world - as noisy as a lawnmower or a Boeing 737 coming in to land.
While most cats purr at around 25 decibels, Smokey has been recorded at an average of 80 decibels.
And, when measured at close range, her purrs reach 92 decibels, equal to a plane coming in to land.
Owners Ruth and Mark Adams, from Northampton, cannot hear the TV or radio and struggle to have phone conversations over her.
Scream Ruth said: "She even manages to purr while she eats. The only time she is quiet is when she is asleep.
"She's very happy and content, just very loud."
The family have now submitted an application to Guinness World Records.
A spokesman for Guinness World Records said last night: "The record for the loudest scream by a human is 129dB.
"If Smokey can purr at over 80dB, it would be a really astonishing feat."
I will post the video of her when I find it.
