One of our past cats (Cleo) was a pain for getting into the loft, everytime the ladder was lowered. Trouble was she wasn't very good at getting down! It's a big loft, full of "useful" things OH says we need to keep We often lost her in there and just had to wait until she appeared at the hatch and wailed to come down! |

My dear old Smudge was the first to alert me to a cat's ability to climb ladders. I got very worried when she got up there years ago because of the fibre glass getting in her paws. Pip has shown interest in getting up the loft ladder so now I shut him in another room before we open the loft hatch. Funnily, neither Merlin nor Kizzy show any interest. Great pictures! |

Rover used to climb up the ladder and then jump the last four feet up into the loft-space if we didn't catch him in time. Very scary with a cat that would occasionally fail to keep his balance on something as narrow as our bed... and right next to the stairwell down. Enough distance down to right himself but no good flat areas to land. |
